if god had meant us not to eat people, he wouldnt have made us of meat
god considers it wasteful and disrespectful not to eat people -
you should only kill people when you are hungry
god goes to a lot of trouble making bodies and he likes to see them used up, not wasted
god gets annoyed [and that causes earthquakes] when he sees people wasting good food - it is an insult to the lord
it is no more gross than eating animals - and it is more noble to eat humans, as they are nobler than animals
you are permitted not to eat smokers, since they taste bitter - otherwise, you should always eat people, or god will punish you with eternal hell

It's just gross to you .. and the rest of us.. in America.. Canada.. and all those other places .. but in some cultures it holds religious symbolysim.. almost all cultures belive that a person has a soul.. in some however.. they think that the soul stays in the person when they die, and that if you consume that person.. you will recieve their knowledge and power..
Also, when faced with a situation where you die.. or you eat someone.. I would still consider it gross.. and I would probably never tell anyone.. but if I had to .. I think I would... we have a stronger will to live than any species.. and that will to live transends the gross/not gross line.

Some eat to gain their enemies strength. For them it's a cultural thing and not considered gross. They might consider it wasteful and perhaps even disrespectful not to eat the dead.
Some to stay alive like the members of the Donner party who were trapped in extreme cold without food.

This has happened only when the choice has been cannibalism or death. Plane crash survivors and people drift at sea are examples of this. You will never be able to have a moral judgment unless you are put into this position yourself.
