I know that this is not a meeting site...but that sort of thing does happen here.

Yes, I have, although primarily through the link with 360. Several of the people I consider most important to my life are those whose real names I do not use at all: I know them from their nicknames and their avatars. We found each other primarily by clicking on the link under an avatar (me or the other person; they have gone both ways), and finding on the Q&A page a link to their 360 page, and reading our blogs, and getting to know one another that way. When someone trusts you enough to tell you their real email address, instead of going through the 360 messenger system, then you know you have a friend. Check out my friends list on my 360 page. See which ones have written testimonials, which ones have repeatedly commented on my blogs, and follow the links to see which ones I have commented on their blogs.

I have never yet met any of them in the flesh, but I am looking forward to doing so one day.

I don't like to get too involved with people on the internet, I'm sure there are some people on this site that I would probably enjoy getting to know better... but I don't think I could keep up the extra committment and even more writing than I already do. It's a time thing I guess.

Yes. There is a large group of people here who I 'click' with and whom I'm proud and happy to consider a friend.

What I like most about it is that, however strongly we may defend our 'side', at the end of the day the good people bubble up out of the muck and it doesn't matter what their religious beliefs are. I'm a proud humanist but some of the nicest people I've met here have been Christian, Muslim, Pagan and other things too.

I believe in humanity - which means that, at the moment, 2/3 of the people I believe in also believe in God. I have to respect that.
