I can quote some of the Bible,but you mentioned Proverbs. Which is one of my weaker areas. I'll give one anyway.
Acts chapter 2 verse 38.
"Then Peter said unto them. Repent,and be baptised everyone of you. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. For the remission of sins,and ye shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost."
