Instead of a boss you have clients: husband & children. They each require different type of services and it's your professional duty to perform them to ensure their health and happiness. But, in essence, you are your own boss because you get to decide when and how to provide such services for them.

Well I am a housewife but I don't see my husband as my boss if that's what you're getting at here because we share all the work and childcare in the house anyway. Do you need a boss?

Well probably you and the dust bunnies, or the spiders in the corners. The laundry that seems to grow from its container just after you finish washing clothes. The oven that screams heat me up and throw food in me. The lawn and plants that need watering have a say in your day also. Also the pets that the kids wanted will need your attention. So you are the boss of deciding which one gets your attention first!

a housewife is usually the boss, but to children your not sometimes. it was recently talked about on discovery channel about mothers and they stated that all a housewife and mother does would amount to over 508 grand a year.

Relationships are supposed to be partnerships, if your husband goes to work that is his area, you take care of the house and children, you work as a team, no boss.

Sadly, in the USA you are legally unemployed and get no social benefits eligibility (i.e., social security pension, unemployment benefit if you want to look for work). (In Britain, you would get child allowances for any minor children and national insurance (social security) credits for those years.)
So: legally there is no boss, unless you're so unfortunate as to be one of Warren Jeff's 80 wives, in which case he would be lording it over you and the rest of his harem while the FBI (despite his being one of the "most wanted') plays tiddlywinks.

You are the boss of you. If your husband thinks otherwise, tell him to fast forward to 2006.
