I have an old bed in my basement, across the basement from a living room set. Anyways, when my grandson came over, there's an 8-year-old girl named Becky who comes over to play. So, they went downstairs to play "House". When I came down to tell them dinner was ready, I saw both of them in the same bed, kinda close, too. Is that natural, and what should I do?

YES, IT IS NATURAL
THEY HAD THERE CLOTHES ON I ASSUME.
THEY HAD SEEN MOMMY AND DADDY IN BED TOGETHER SO THEY THINK THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
EASE UP...DON'T GET UPSET, BUT DO KEEP AN EYE ON THEM CLOSELY, THEY MIGHT WANT TO EXPERIMENT,

Nothing may have happened, but it is time for the parents to have a talk with the 10 year old boy about this not really being appropriate behavior. Would be a good idea to have the basement off limits from now on if an adult is not present; while they are under your care, you are responsible for what happens to them.
As you are the the grandparent, you really should discuss it with the parent that is your child and ask them to discuss it with the child and the parents of the other child.

I will tell you that I have an 11 year old son and a 9 year old son and my 11 year old started maturing at 10. I don't think he would go so far as sex but he would have kissed if he had the chance. I can also tell you that we are very close and talk about everything and although hormones start to kick in at 10 they are scared to death. I think you need to worry when the girl is 10. Girls are more mature than boys and they are more agressive at 10 than boys are.
Just talk to your grandson and let him know that he is getting to an age that it isn't appropriate to be so effectionate with girls....Trust me in 5th grad they watch "The Video" about boys and girls in school. He will know what you are talking about.

Normal... yes,... They were playing house... so they were playing
a couple... in bed... normal,yes....
They were not making love grandma.... from another grandma...
My oldest grandson has had around 10 girlfriends since he stated
school at 5 years old... He is now 8 1/2...
The girls kiss him... like kids do... on the cheek...
He is very cute and especially charming....
Have you ever seen your TV screen...? Don't think that kids
are missing anything either... The young generation are very
experimental and very young on both sides...
Cannot change what on TV or magazines....
Sorry, but the old fashion age has gone for ever...
Don't worry about your granson... He has parents to guide him...
Good luck...

there sould not be a problem with this. if they are only playing and sleeping. if all clothing is on, that is. besides children are naturaly courious about things like there bodies and the bodies of others. not saying that they should explore these couriosities. but you might want to know they exsist.
monitor their play from around a corner to assertain the extent of their play. but just remamber they are children, and probably dont understand what they are doing. most importantly dont act irrationaly, and dont freak out. stay calm and think stuff through, before you act. good luck.

Ahh the age old game of house.
Playing house, in my opinion, is just a way for children to explore and somewhat copy what parents do.
If you catch them too close, I suggest you talk to the two of them and tell them that you can play house, but when they "sleep" together, tell them not to "sleep" too close to each other.
Hope this helps.

I think maybe its time to talk to your grandson or have a talk with his parents to tell them to have THE talk with him. It could be nothing or it could be plain curiousity. i doubt that its sex though.
My advice, if there is something going on, is to educate the kid before he thinks there is nothing wrong with touching a girl 'down there' or 'cuddling up', if you know what i mean.
Of course it could be nothing at all. Just keep a close eye on em. It could just be simple house. Nothing else. but best to get the matter settled out straight asap.

Maybe they were doing some "exploring" or kissed or something...who didn't at that age? But I highly doubt they had intercourse. Remember dont judge the poor kids with a dirty adult mind when they are just kids.

I wouldn't worry too much, kids grow up so fast these days but I guess don't leave them alone too much as they will maybe get a bit more involved in their exploration.

They probably don't know about sex or are curious about it yet. But, your it sounds like your grandson should get the "Talk" pretty soon so he knows the inappropriateness of that.
