Technically, depending on where you live, the father is financially responsible for half the upkeep of the child until it reaches its majority, regardless of the circumstances of conception. However, if you ask him for money, you are also inviting him into the child's life, for good or ill. Is he the sort of person you feel would have a positive influence on the child? This is something you should consider. You can't just take the money and shut him out. If he pays, he gets rights. Think carefully before pursuing this. B

Right..., you had nothing to do with it. You couldn't be bothered to either use birth control, or keep your legs closed, but it's his fault.
Just remember guys, women have the right to choose. And choose, they do. They choose to have sex, choose who to have sex with, choose to get pregnant, choose to stay pregnant. And they even get to choose the father, who may or may not have had anything to do with the actual event.
Guys, always use birth control no matter what!
You should be using birth control AND so should she. The pill is NOT the only form. There's about 12 different forms of birth control, she can't be allergic to all of them. If a girl is not on birth control, she wants to have a baby. Maybe not right away, maybe not with you, but if it happens she won't be too upset.
Do not, under any circumstances, stick it in without a condom. Even if she says she's on the pill. You don't know if she's telling the truth, or missed a dose, or simply forgot. You just don't know. Don't take her word for it and protect yourself.
Remember, 60 minutes of irritation is better, much better, than 18 years of child support.
