Look out. Here come the "boogeyman created false fossils" conspiracy theories.

This ought to be entertaining!

A person I knew in school convinced herself that the fossils of dinosaurs were put on earth by the Devil to discredit the bible and make people think that the whole God thing was make believe.

I guess it is what you want to believe in, and how you interpret what the bible says!

I always used to think that the creation of the earth in 7 days was a little over the top as well.

Not the same person, but also someone I knew in school, used to say "But how long was a day back then?". It seems that if something is written in the bible that doesn't quite fit, then we can simply read whatever we want from its words! Very convienient if you ask me!

As for me, I'm going with the evolution over creation theory!

Oh, man, you hav'nt looked too much into evolution. Evolution is all about starting at a point and continuing on. Ie monkeys into man and so forth. But facts will tell you that that time has now past that if evolution is true then each one of us should be some supernatural species if time took a monkey over the years making a man and years still continue what should of man should we have now? Time has now overtaken the time it took from monkey to man. I would say you don't have to be educated to understand that evolution is man made and like all things that are man made they come to an end.

The Bible written over hundreds of years many of the writers never met each other, history confirms the facts, sicence in the last few years has discovered things that if only they had read the Bible thousands of dollars would have been saved.

Yet does the Bible speak about dinosaurs?

Every answer that you need is in the Bible.

It is a proven fact now that they have discovered "Noah's Ark" which I have no doubt existed.

History says that this world was flooded and it was during the time Noah lived. But what I would say, what went into the ark/boat of Noah had to come out. For instance lions went in lions came out and today we have lions.

Dinosaurs are not alive on this earth - that means breaking a lot of religious beliefs that they never went into the ark. Yet God says "Of every animal bring two into the ark male and female" (Except where sacrificial animals where they had to be more)
So, the Bible says "Every animal" was brought into the ark.

Like you I cannot deny facts and facts state that dinosaurs lived on this earth. What happened to the dinosaurs???

You could ask what happened to them but I would also ask what were they? No one every seems to ask this!

Dinosaurs where the most ugly creatures I have evered saw made up with what people deem them to look like.

The Bible says that when the fallen angels were cast out of Heaven they lost there glory falling unto the earth.

Falling unto the earth they fought and killed each other carrying the evil that was found in them. Then the earth was covered with water (Previous to Noah's flood) anything that would have been living would have been drowned. But water only kills the natural body but not the spirit. In them being drowned there spirit's were released in and through the earth. As the Bible says - "The devil goes about looking for who he can destory," Jesus came and cast out devils (meaning devils had to be in people) Why does spirits seek entrance of people or animals - they have no body.

On every discovery of a dinosaur they will state that they lay in water for a long time as in years. Yet Noah's flood was only for days.

My conclusion is - Dinosaurs were fallen angels losing there bodies they became spirits and so they seek entrance into bodies to manifest there evil charactor. Thus the reason why a special place has been created for them by God called hell where they will be put.

The purpose of the Bible is to bring people into daily relationship with the Christian God (not to tell people about dinosaurs).

IOW, the Bible doesnt speak about dinos for the same reason that your biology text book does not speak about how rockets were manufactured in the Soviet Union.

Regarding Evolution ...

There is no evidence that proves Atheistic MacroEvolution (without Intelligent Design)...

I used to believe in Evolution. However, over a period of time I have grown skeptical of the claims of Macro*Evolution... this is largely due to the weakness of the evidence for Macro*Evolution, and the fact that the evidence, rationally interpreted does not support the overarching claims made by Macro*Evolutionists...

For scientific and intellectual critiques of evolution, see http://www.godsci.org/gsi/apol/evo/00.html .

Cordially,

Can't you entertain the possibility that evolution and religion are compatible? Okay, maybe not if you take the Bible as literal, but I don't and except evolution and Jesus Christ.
And if it was an early form of social control it didn't work very well. We know from many sources (one of them being the bible) that people in those times weren't all perfect, and still sinned. Moses himself was a murderer. The point of Christianity isn't to be sinless, it is just that we can be saved.

Nope.

If anything, it proves that the bible began with the creation of civilization. The bible is a collection of insights, given by God, to people who were trying to figure out a world that seems chaotic, yet can be equally full of serendipitous events, as best they could.

Dinosaurs, while being totally awesome, aren't really a vital source of fundamental insights for humanity.

Evolution and religion are not polar opposites. The divine aspect of the universe exists, as it always has. Our ability to understand it and decipher its nature just increases as science and tec hnology develop.

All religions and religious texts from the various religions are forms of social control, and certain elements within this control structure are extremist in their opinions and with their own agenda for that control. The so called ‘Intelligent Design’ theory actually being taught in some American schools is an example of how science can be hijacked by certain extremist lobbyists and the result is spurious and poor science. It is interesting that religious extremists/fundamentalists of any religion wish to turn back progress and advancement to the Middle Ages period where poor education and limited aspirations made us all easier to control.

It doesn't prove the Bible is a form of social control, though it's still a possibility. The Bible at its worst is more likely a tool to perpetuate the biggest business in the world, the business of religion. At its best, the Bible is one of the many tools God uses to get his message to us. Not the message that we need to believe this particular thing or that particular thing, the message that we all need to "Be Good".

Amazing how all the other great religious books teach the same thing at their core, while men choose to distort their meaning by selectively choosing pieces from them to support their distorted causes.

Why dinosaurs specifically? And in what sense would their existence propogate the idea that the Bible was a form of social control? Its pretty obvious that the Bible was used like that...it doesn't make the material contained within it less valid.

No, dinosaurs do not prove anything with regard to the Bible. However, they do cast a tremendous shadow of doubt on the claim of Earth's recent (relatively speaking) creation.

Well who says that God didn't create huge dinosaurs...

Man was created later... it's time that is the problem... 1000yrs is just a blink of a eye for God... so how much was 7 days??
