is xanax a bad thing for me to take because i am bi polar it is 2 mg......

I am bi-polar & have taken xanax for the last 5 years I take 1/2 mg 3 tmes aday then 1 mg at night. So I say no it is not bad for you.

That is a high dose. I hope that's only at night just before bedtime. I have depression and trouble sleeping, I take 1mg Xanax at bedtime with Ambien to help me sleep.

xanax,unfortunatley,is an extremely addictive narcotic.it doesnt take long at all,for your body to become not just emotionally addicted but physically dependant on the drug.
please take precaution!!!!!
after being on the drug for so long i told my doctor i wanted off.so he tried SLOWLY weening me off.twice i was taken to emergency after having 2 grand mal seizures.
please be careful!

If the DR gave it to you you should be Ok . Such l'm not sure why he is giving you anti anxiety medication when an Anti depressant would be more appropriate. It's also a pretty big dose .

no its a good medication under medical supervision ..
the most important thing that u have to stop it gradually avoiding withdrawal symbtoms.
