If they aren't blind, yes being attracted to ones looks is the first step in the mating ritual no matter what species that being happens to be.
If they are blind, I would guess it would be smell then the sound of the persons voice instead of looks.
Plus, the same goes for a woman becoming attracted to a man. If we like the way he looks we will give him more of a chance for a relationship.

they start off a new conversation only with gers with good looks.. and have a mindset that pretty gers have a gd personalities and are gd at everything regardless of what the gers are like behind the guys..
in this way, gers without gd looks never gets to have guys know more about how they are like.. personalities of average looks gers tend to be better than gers with good looks who are always so proud of their looks and think they can get everything they want just by flirting..

I think looks are important, but if you're pretty and stupid then it won't be real. Lemme explain:
My boyfriend (before we were dating) saw me and my friend going through a drive through at Jack-in-the-Box. The line was really busy inside and there were no cars so I hopped on my friend's back and piggy-backed through the drive through.
He saw we were having fun, so he was interested in me.
Then my friend (the one I piggy-backed with) started dating this guy who had a single friend (the guy who saw us). They set me and the guy up on a blind date, but beforehand we talked on AIM for a while and got to know eachother a little.
When we finally met he kissed my cheek and told me I was beautiful and "his dream girl" (at a point in my life when I wasn't happy with how I looked, I just didn't feel like me, it wasn't a "I'm fat" or "I'm ugly" it was just... not me).
We've been dating for almost two years and we're still going strong.
We still flirt like a new couple though. It's amazing. We're truly in love.

Honestly! I think guys that dont know you look for looks first! We wish they didnt, however it is only natural to look at someone first and decide whether you want to get to know them or not.
If the guy knows you, he may fall in love with your personality instead and enjoy being around you. He then finds you visually attractive because your personality is attractive too. Thats why its good to fall for a man that you have developed a friendship first.

It's well known that guys are visually driven, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. The sociocultural evidence for this abounds: pornography (almost exclusively for men), the cosmetic industry (almost exclusively for women) etc.

as harsh as this sounds I think thats how the world of guys works I just think thats what most guys do... they check to see if your attractive then will talk to you.... I'm not saying every guys like that I mean some guys may talk to you and like your personality...but most of the guys will see if your attractive then will talk
