Happens all the time. There is no rhyme or reason to Yahoo Answers mods.

I had the same thing happen. Iasked what people did for mothers day and it was removed. I sent several emails to yahoo asking why it was removed as it was in no way offensive and i never got an answer from them. When you lookat some of the questions in here that stay on you have to wonder why ours got deleted. Check this one...I bet it won't be removed! I don't get it

It might have had to do with the idea that it was related to a personal message for someone specific. It is in violation to this question and answers that no private messages are allowed. Total speculation but probably the reason.

I recently put a question on and someone answered it offendingly hinting that it was worse than it was and Yahoo delated it when really the question was simple and not offensive in any way.

check the abuse categories. Yours is solicitation and personal ads.
I recommend you go back and read the rules. They are very specific.
See the question above from birminghambelleuk entitled "Looking for new friends" See, that's not a question she is soliciting people to join her in chat. It's not offensive but it is against the rules.

I knoew the same thing happened to me and I'm here wondering if some jealous person saw how many points I had and reported me. They just said they've deleted my question because of promtional issues. Ridiculous.

Yeah, you can't promote anything, I don't think. It's kind of the same as "check out my website, www.mywebsite.com" or something like that. They usually delete the "visit my MySpace!" posts too.

Sounds like you broke the "no solicitation" rule. *shakes finger* Too bad though. Sounds like it was for a good cause.

it wasn't the question that was offensive it was because you were advertising for ppl to join your group.
