yes they have every right to search your belongings because they dont know if you are holding a concealed weapon or anything else. And yes even if you are a teenager you can still be carring a weapon of some sort. An officer that I work with was shot a few years ago by a teenager that he didnt search because he didnt think he would have anything dangerous on him. In the last few years it has been far more common to search minors in every state because of similar situations.

Yes, they do! If you are breaking the law even something as simple as smoking cigarettes it opens to door for them to search further.

I love that excuse, "I was holding the drugs for a friend." I suppose that's because most drug users don't like to keep their own drugs?
That excuses is akin to, "These aren't my pants. They're my friend's pants and I'm just borrowing them. I had no idea there were drugs in them."
