...I said everyone who was a Christian was a sheet wearing, black person lynching KKK member?

Then why do so many people seem to think that everyone who is Islamic is a terrorist?

The deeds of the few do not speek for the minds of the many. Most Moslems don't even consider those committing terrorist acts true Moslems, the same way Christians don't see KKK members as true Christians.

Some say the Koran is full of verses about "killing infadels" and such. Well, so is the Bible. Is the Bible "full of hate" too?

What are your thoughts on this?

To Peter B, I have met many Moslems who are very vocal about how much they hate what people are doing in the name of their religion.

Most of us realize that the vast majority of Muslims are no different from any other group. The problem is that we only hear about the Extremists who are murdering people. Then people are lazy and tend to generalize by just saying Muslim instead of Extremist Muslim. I'm sorry if the moderate Muslims get wrongly labeled, but the Extremist's actions are completely indefensible on any religious or moral grounds. Just as times when the Christians have murdered innocent people, such as the Spanish Inquisition, the witch hunts, the KKK and most of the wars between Cathollics and Protestants are completely indefensible.

They say it is Israel and the "West" that they hate and that might explain why they have killed people in Israel, America, England, and Spain because they were all part of the coalition to defeat Hussein and have supported Israel to some degree.

However, that does not excuse kidnapping non-combatants and murdering them when they have done nothing to deserve it.
It also does not explain why the same religious fanatics are killing people in Russia, India, Indonesia and The Philippines. None of them have any connection to Israel or America. That, to me, leaves absolutely no doubt about who is the "evil" cause behind all the violence. They are the ones practicing the part of the Koran that says kill all infidels. America and the Christians aren't at this point in history. We are killing people who refuse to tolerate any other belief and are using violence all over the world.

Since those fanatics are defiling the Islamic religion it is difficult to understand why the moderate majority of Muslims don't rise up and condemn them. I suspect it is probably somewhat similar to when the Nazis took over Germany, or during the witch hunts or the Spanish Inquisition. They are the violent ones with all the guns and power and to stand up to them means getting murdered or at least being labeled a Jew lover. But as long as they hide amongst innocent civilians, I can not fault Israel for bombing civilian areas. After decades of trying to negotiate and only getting your young people, shopping centers, buses, and ships and planes blown up and an escalation and spreading of the violence in return, there comes a point where the only option left is to beat them until they learn to live peacefully with the rest of the world.

Try to remember that we also fought the Nazis, when they took over the Christian country of Germany and started killing people and invading their neighbors.

I really don't look at the bible in ways that would portrait hatred. But truthfully, believing in the Bible as much as I do, I really feel there has to be some sort of order by putting God first. By nature, we're are untamed just as most wild animals are. However, being as we are, we're far more advanced than any animal kingdom, it just goes to show that may be everyone of us should at least be contained and realized some sort of responsibility. By this, I mean responsible for our own actions, thoughts, and behaviors. If all three of these are screwed up, then we're worse tthan those that are borned handicapped. Not that I have any thing against handicapped people. But do you see what I'm getting at. Back to that thought of screwed up three things, we would be far worse than some wild animals, just because of us being more advanced than any animal kingdom.
The Bible tends to not favor the infidels, gay, and prostitution. It just goes to show that the people who wrote the Bilbe are far above and beyond normal everyday people like ourselves. Since, God is our creator, one should be fearful of him to not commmit any of these acts like being infidel, having sexual relations with the same sex, and prostitution. However, I have always believed that our creator is a loving God, not so much of a punisher one. However, if you get out of line with your own life you will receive some form of punishments that you will not forsee. Being a believer, I have seen things happened to me, and I do not blame god for that. but It seems as if I had been taught a lesson by him, looking back at my own life.
So I believe, most religious people are brought up in such a way that you had been mind controlled. that's why certain religious groups tend to really bashed down on other religions. Let's put it this way. Let's look at 9/11, for example, let's put the christians or catholics, or buddhist, or whatever in those people's place. What do you see if these are the case, and having those kids trained exactly the same way? 9/11 could had happen regardless of what religion those people are. Do you see what mean? I really don't think all Islamics are terrorist. by the same token, there are good and bad christians. And it's the same way with catholics or buddhists, or the likes.

Well, that's a nice well-thought out analogy and I appreciate you bringing it up. However, I must object to your last point that the Quran is full of verses about "killing infidels" because is simply isn't. Sure, there are verses that cover that address this topic but it isn't so straight forward, nor is the Quran "full" of these verses.
I hope this cleared up any possible misconceptions.

i believe that narrow minded people fear the unknown or the different. i haven't spoke about religion with any Muslims that i know of , but the few i have met seem to be nice decent people. as do most Christians ,Jews, i have met. as for other religions i am not sure if i have met any one from those religions. but i believe there are good and bad examples of every religion. a lot of people have died in the name of religion. every religion has had its bad apples. if we all lived by the golden rule and to love one another as ourselves i think this would be a better world.

The "Problem" with ALL Religions, is that they are "Belief" based systems and no matter what the facts, Religious Zealots can say whatever they want and say it's their interpretation of their Bible and they are right and you have no recourse.

That's it in a nutshell. Religion is like a gun that talks to people and tells them what they want to hear, and if the gun says kill, they kill. It's very sad.

islam , christianity and all other religions are fine except that all claim monopoly to the truth and therefore we have fanatics. the church was spread by killing anybody who did not believe but to look at that and forget the words of wisdom is not right( love your neighbour as you love yourself and ove god with all your heart, stregnth and soul) prophet mohammed also tought a lot of love and that is what we must focus on......

It would not offend me for you to state your opinion. You have a right to have one, whether it is based on truth or fiction. However, I will only accept it as an opinion, simply because, you need to research the sources that you are citing, and offer some solid information to back it up.

I agree with TOMMYTROUBLE...unfortunately the zealots who take everything literally (like the mothers in the news that are stoning their kids to death (Tyler,TX), and cutting off their arms (Dallas,TX) drowning them ...the ones that dance around with snakes..these are the people that make you question religion. Some people are just ignorant...and unfortunately their poor kids just get drug right into the middle of it. Some don't make it out alive.

This proofs that we have to look at each person individually. If we do not really know all his/her circumstances and reasons we are not in the position to judge him/her. What we should do is to make a point if something is right for us or not, but never judge others for what they are doing.
Anyway my feeling is that you have got the pint.
