thanks for all the loving responses. i love that everyone is respecting each others different beliefs. i appreciate all this support! it's beautiful because none of you even know my daughter and i. people are good, i have learned this because of all of you. thank you so much.

Things are awful right now, i'm scared for my daughter's safety, her father is a very dangerous man. I feel that it is just a matter of time before something happens to her, but the law will not let me protect her.
i am feeling better an more confident in my faith because of you all though. i will not give up believing in God, he will protect my daughter and good will come out of this. i have to believe.

After you've done all you can, just keep on standing and believe in God.

If you truly believe in him, he'll take care of things.

It is easy to have a faith when everything is ok, in old testament there are numerous stories where people beleive that when a man is succesfull he is blesed by God , but when he is like obliterated by ills then he is cursed , but then you have a book of Job , and you see that logic has a flow, Job was a perfect faithfull person and there were some many ill that attacked him and his family.I recomend it for reading. In new testament there is a pasus where someone ask Jesus why is that man paraplegic or i ll, Jesus said so that you can see the power of God.
I am not sure if I have corectly put it , but there was a answer from Jesus on Job's question.
Faith is always under trial an you are always under strugle.
When logic fails and you think too much, remember that faith is a gift and pray, because in silence of the prayer you will find peace and faith again.
There are many saints who in the last minute just before death had a major strugle and faith issues, an still they were victiorus and died peacefuly.
I can not give you logical rassurance , I only can push you toward prayer.

I am sure you have read this before but it is a powerful message:
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the Lord.

Across the dark sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand,
one beloning to him and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the
very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life there is
only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most
you would leave me."

The Lord replied "My precious, precious child,
I love you and would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffereing,
when you see only one set of footprints in the sand,
it was then that I carried you."

The truth is that God is always there for you. However, sometimes, because our lives don't go as WE plan them to, we assume there is either no God or there is a God and he is not there for US. This is not true. God has his own plan and eventhough life takes some unexpected dips and curves, your jobis to carry on believing that you are loved. We are here to learn. What are we here tolearn about? LOVE. That is it, LOVE. God's love, your love for yourself, your love for your daughter. And although sometimes things look like they are going the wrong direction, you never know what is coming. God may actually have a plan for you that is better than anythin gyou could have ever put together.
I will tell you a story of somethingthat happened LAST WEEK to a friend of mine's cousin.
The cousin was in some trouble. And he is a drinker. So, he got into this trouble and he was drunk and he got arrested. He was angry. He didn't feel that he should be in jail. It wasn't fair. He felt it really sucked.

Well, while he was in jail some friends of his went out on a boat. Something happened, the boat overturned and every one of the men on that boat died.

Had the cousin not been arrested, he would have been on the boat and he would have died.

Sometimes what you percieve to be the worst situation may have an outcome that you never expected.

Good luck with your daughter and God is BLessing you both.

Sister, there are times when we are put in the position that is all but not easy. This very positions will show you what is real and what is not real as your faith. If you would have true faith you will never loose it. We people are bent to believe in God only when things are going the way we believe is right for us, when we actually know nothing.
There is one method that can help you a lot.

JUST DO YOUR BEST, FOR THE REST IS IN HIS HANDS. Try to accept whatever will happen and try not to be so judgmental on others as we are all living in darkens.

From the answers on this site you will realize that there are people that cares about you and your loved ones even they do not really know you as a person. You never know. what might look now as wrong it might turn out as good.

Japan as a whole was under this same stress you are at one time. A long time ago, Japan was looming on invasion by the mongolian horde which at the time had taken over most of the continent of asia. Many Japanese gave into fatalism and embraced pure land buddhism a religion that offers solice in the idea of a "pure land" in which good people are born into which they may finally reach enlightenment. This was because this realm seemed so futile a place to reach enlightenment. Fortunately, for the Japanese nation the samurai were zen practioners and didn't give into fatalism. When the mongol horde brought their fleet of thousands of ships to bear onto the Japanese mainland, the samurai were there to meet them and due to their resolve the mongols were unable to establish a land base. After several attempts to come ashore a mighty wind (which would later come to be known as a kamakazi) came in and sank all the mongol ships off the coast of Japan.

The moral of the story is this: Trying to believing in santa claus won't keep the hordes at bay.

Read Genesis 21:9-21.

Sarah had Abraham turn against Hagar and Ishmael.

He sent them into the wilderness with only a few provisions.
Hagar had conceded that they would die out there, but God made His presence as well as his comfort and protection known to her.

You sound like you have been sent unexpectedly into a wilderness of sorts as well.

But God and His angels are also there for you, as He was with Hagar and Ishmael.

It took a while, but Hagar's faith in God was restored. Yours' will be, too.

By the way, do you have Psalm 23 memorized yet?
Please do. You should also teach it to your child.

one thing i've learned from life is that when u are searching for something you will never find it because u enter what is called the tunnel vision and only see whats infront of you when u stop searching you will see more and whats around you. you are not losing faith you are gaining it. because u had this tunnel vision of God for so long u start to believe that this is the only way that he is but its not. god is infinite and so should ur faith in him see this as a new learning experience most people are not lucky enough to challenege their faith its only gonna get stronger for u. and o...if u feel like u are unable to protect your child then just ask them...i mean what are you to say that u are not protecting them while they them selfs thinks what you do is perfect.

Don't lose faith. I've felt like that before. Just pray and ask the lord to keep you strong for your child. I've felt many times that I'm can't protect my own children. But God can, just keep your faith strong. Wouldn't you rather have him by your side. If you can't protect your child, who will. Only God can help you, ask him for more faith!

i am going thruw a similar thing, you fell like the only thing keeping you sane is the hope that your prayers are heard, and yet yu wake up everyday and the sky seems to get darker and colder. I undersatnd that sometimes unfair things happen to us, and we may lose a job or money, and we learn from the experience and grow stronger, but when something happens to us and not only do we lose something we have fought for for long and hard years, we end up lossing much more than we thoght, when you lose your faith and trust..... after that what can you really expect out of live??? fairnes? love? its hard to wake up one day and realize that you are ALONE. and realize that you might as well steal, murder, even rape, because nothings happens for a reason,, **** big unfair **** is the ultamate meal we will all end up eating...... I really do not mean to scare you. do what you can for your girl, look out for her and hope ... just hope.

Losing faith or questioning your faith is actually quite common, especially during hard times. You may feel like you are losing faith but you may suprise yourself. I keep a journal/diary and as I look back in my diary, when I was going through hard times, I noticed that my writing got alot more spiritual and I quoted the Bible alot. I thought I was losing faith too, but as I look back...that is when I actually drew closer to God. Be still and know that he is God. Also, look up Joshua 1:9. That verse always gives me comfort! God Bless you and your daughter...keep Him alive in your life! He won't let you down!

As I read your question, I am so sorry. I am also a Mom, and I know there is nothing I wouldn't do to try to protect my children as well. I can only assume what the problem is.... :*(
I am going to include a couple of links that I hope will prove helpful. The first about protecting our children

The second is comfort for the afflicted. Know that you don't have to be alone. Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, and he himself will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to totter."—Psalm 55:22.
