well, her hair won't fall out, but the main concern is over-drying the hair. and if it's overdried, it will become brittle and start breaking-sort of like split ends that travel the length of the hair. very hard to fix, but easy to prevent. make sure she uses conditioner-not just the shampoo/conditioner in 1. then apply a leave-in conditioner before drying the hair. and at least twice a week, use any kind of oil treatment system for the hair found in the beauty section at walmart or places like it.
also, try using a paddle brush to straighten the hair as you dry it, instead of straightening it, and see if it gets the same results.
and get regular haircuts to trim those split ends at the bottom. tell your friend good luck!

It's not very good! I doubt her hair is going to fall out...but it can really lead to breakage!
I have had to cut down the blow drying/ flat ironing because my hair was becoming really brittle. When I heat style it now I try to use heat protection serums and shampoos so at least there's more protection from breakage. Just tell your friend to maybe switch to a different hair style that requires less straightening and such. Or have her wait a few more days in between straightening to wash out her hair, so that instead of doing it every other day...she does it maybe twice a week.

Don't do the Japanese straightener at the salons. I did it twice and $1000 later I have had to cut all of that straightened hair off and now my hair is all new. I just straighten it when I want to and if you use a good iron like a CHI and something like Biosilk Silk Therapy which is heat activated to protect hair your hair will be fine.

Using straightening irons is terrible for the hair! Every time she uses it, she is boiling the moisture in her hair causing bubbling of the hair shaft that leads to breakage, splitting and white dots.
The more she uses it, the worse her hair will get. It will get weaker and weaker, break off more and more and start looking frazzled, uneven, dry and all around awful. In time, she will have to chop off all that wrecked, ravaged hair.
Products that claim to protect the hair don't. Nothing can keep the heat from damaging the hair. Nothing. Would she heat up her flattening iron and clamp it on her skin and run it down her arm? Of course not! But every time she uses it in her hair, she is burning her hair.

Yes it does but their are prevantative measures u can take ie:
Purchase a ceramic hair straightener, they are better for your hair and dont damage it as badly. Cermaic plates are less harsh on ur ends
Purchase hair serum, this is what i personally use. By applying it to the ends of your hair, when ur hair straightener would usually burn the ends of ur hair it burns the serum instead. It works like a protective barrier and makes ur hair softer. Look for a product called straightening balm or solution, readily avail. at a supermarket or hair dressers.

Straightening hair everyday is really bad as it could lead to seroius damage to the hair. Strightening hair with a blow dryer or even with a straighteneras it would cause breakage of hair and eventually lead to thinning and loss of hair in heaps!!

You could tell your friend to buy a shmpoo or spray to add to the hair when wet or dry.Tis will help to rehydrate the hair. She could also get it professionly straightend this will last for a couple of months so she will not need to do it every day.

it is definately bad..try using Loreal's anti-fizz mask or other straightening product like straightening balm and all. Be sure to choose one that doesn't require blowing or straightening with the heat and stuffs...just the applying kind...it works for me...

if she has to straighten her hair...make sure it is on a low heat setting. when she straightens it every other day it will make her have split ends. If she trims her ends it will be fine.
