The Da Vinci Code, while is a great book, is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to Jesus having a blood line. Dan Brown is not the creator of this theory - yes, it's neither been proven fact or fiction, thus it is a theory.

I repeat, this is not Dan Brown's creation. He may have created a story that surrounds this theory, but that's all he created, not the theory but just the story. He got the theory from the Dead sea Scrolls that were discovered.

Why can't people seem to understand this?

This isn't a debate about the Da Vinci Code being true or false.

The theory first became big in "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", a book that was reasearch based. You're right, it's not Dan Brown's imagination. It's proabably been around longer than that book I mentioned but that's the first I know of it.

You're right that Dan Brown didnt create the theory...

He took the basic concepts from a previous book which didnt sell very well (Holy blood, holy grail)...

The theory is not substantiated by any meaningful evidence...

See http://www.godsci.org/gs/dvc/ for an evaluation of the claims of the Da Vinci Code.

Cordially,

Unlike authors who write factual books who then site their sources to give their work more credibility authors who write works of fiction do not need to do this and often do not give any credit in their dedications or any thanks for inspirations either. It is because of this that some people, especially in the media, will give full credit to a novels creation to the author and to no one else who had the idea first. It happens all the time with works of fiction.

Because people don't like to read anymore unless the talking box in the living room tells them to.
