This is a question for a professional. However, you might suggest she try 'dream analysis.' What you do is after a dream, sit with a pen and paper and write down the entire thing. How many people, male or female, how many of each or any children. She must also notice her surroundings in the dream. Where is she? An alley, a public place, a dark place or is it light. Is it day or night, early or late. What are these people wearing? Is the dream color or black and white? All these types of things have meaning. How does she feel, during the dream? Is she angry or just on a killing spree? The dreams could be her mind's way of deleting frustrations of everyday activities that are disturbing her. Then, tell to split up the dream into segments, using keys as to each thing she saw, felt and experienced. Even if she doesn't know the people, it doesn't matter. They could represent family or other people who have ill feeling toward her that she is aware of, but has held inside instead of revealing it. As she uses these key phrases, tell her to write down the first thing that comes into her mind, without thinking about what it is and not to change that first impression. This process will reveal things about herself that even she doesn't realize. She can then take steps to correct it.

This happened to me, when I was having severe nightmares at one point in my life and this method IS very effective. After about three months of doing this, the dreams stopped. The 'first thoughts' of the segments I had written down formed a sentence that told my logical mind what was bothering me. Hope this has been of help.

How realistic is the dream? I mean, if it is a photo-realistic dream and she can hear and feel what is going on around her in the dream, that really is a sign that her brain is trying to either tell her something, or to at least get rid of some high-intensity information.

Having said that. She might really be having anger issues, as another respondent said....as in she may be the kind of person who is really pissed off about something or someone but is just the kind of person to not ever say anything. Dreams do represent as often as not the kinds of things we'd normally *censor* from our thoughts, so if she is angry, she may need to get some help, or at least get a positive outlet for getting her aggression out of her system.

But....if that doesn't seem to be the case, you can always look at things metaphorically too. If she doesn't seem to be harboring any ill will or grudges, maybe her dreams mean "killing" in a less disturbing sense. Maybe she has some old ideas or issues or problems that she just isn't "letting go of" and her mind is trying to tell her that it is ok to let the old stuff "die", or to get rid of it and/or stop thinking about it.

Of course if that is the case, it is highly unusual that she'd be killing other people as the metaphor for most folks for their thoughts in their dreams is some manner of animal...but not everyone thinks alike....

Hope this helps.

Dreams are generally representative of some issue that are of concern to us. This concern could be due to numerous reasons but it is projective of some issue we are struggling with. Some general thoughts could be your friend could have some aggressions which are building up, have had some issues in the past with someone getting murdered, worries about this possibility of either being a murderer or being victimized, maybe she is overly worried about the aggressive state of the war/society. Also sometimes outward personality doesn't indicate an individual's potentialities for things such as aggression, so we can't always take things for granted. That's why sometimes you see someone crack and go "postal." Anyway, I'm sure your friend is a good person, maybe she is just unduly worried about something silly.

To dream that you have committed a murder, indicates that you are putting an end to an old habit and your former ways of thinking. The ending of an old habit may be making her uneasy and hence the dreams.

Dreams usually show you the opposite of what you are most likely to do. So this most likely means that maybe her dreams are telling her she is being too nice to people and they are taking advantage. Or she watches scary movies or eats sweets before bed. If not then it might be also because she is deeply worried about ceratin anger she has toward someone who reallly makes her mad and she worries about how she can control herself. (she probably wont be thinking she wants to kill them but it might be her fear tohurt someone who is making her angry.. (10 points if best answer?)

She needs to lighten up about it and not be too concerned about them. The fact that she is concerned means she isn't the type to do something of that type.

As for the dream it either deals with a desire to regain controll in her life or that she feels that she is being taken advantage of and needs to be more assertave.

I think they mean nothing at all, but if they bother her, then it's a problem. She might consider help in dealing with her dreams as what they are...just dreams. Maybe a counselor or a mild anti-depressive.
