Exactly. When humankind learns that lesson, we may finally just have oh, I don't know... Peace?

It doesn't matter, but humans are curious and like to debate and discuss things. Asking questions is how you learn, knowledge leads to tolerance. The problem is too many people don't just discuss, they get angry and defensive. There is nothing wrong with not knowing all the answers to why you believe what you do either, but people feel threatened by that so they either attack or preach. I am an atheist married to a christian, a catholic at that, if it bothered me or him our marriage wouldn't have lasted. We couldn't much more opposing beliefs.

Bigots, atheists, agnostics, racists, terrorists of all kinds---they're the ones who care and attack. I don't care what a person believes, because the Bible is older than they are and they know the truth and won't accept it. That' s up to them. One of my best friends is an atheist and I'm a minister, so you know I don't care about their beliefs. I know they've heard the words and should decide what they believe AND I will not ever say that my religion is better than another or that it's right above another...only God can tell us that. Any religion that believes in terrorism or hate isn't of God, though. God is love.

We love the Lord and have been silent too long! We are going to shout it from the roof tops! We are tired of people slandering our God! We will respect your position and love you all the same but you can't blame us for wanting something better for you. Your soul will be on our hands if we could have somehow made a difference. We beg your forgiveness if we have hurt you in any way. We will love you anyway.

the only reason there are responses to those posts is because people state their opinion about their religion or other religions. they're basically putting up a sign saying "hi.. care about what i believe in." if no one posts things like that i'm sure we would carry on our ways.

o and people can hurt others through their opinions about their beliefs.

Yes, if one person's belief does not affect others, then no botheration. On the other side, if it affects the life of others, then he should be made to see the reason.
One example: A Muslim believes others as infidels and want to eliminate them or convert others to their religion, which is deplorable and needs to be opposed. If they want their women to be in burqua, let them be, because it does not hurt others.

I does matter because Jesus freaks are always trying to force their beliefs on other people. I am alway bombarded by religious imagery such as billboards and commercials. It violates my civil rights every time I am forced to see or hear religious nonsense. That is why it matters to me.

Some feel compelled to "save" others. they know the 'truth' and want to help everyone. I suppose if one thought they had the found the secret to eternal youth wouldn't one want to share this secret? If we could all take your view of "who cares" then I suppose all would be well. Those of us who are compelled to "save" cannot accept not trying to "save" others to them it is the equivalent of not sounding a fire alarm when the building is burning.

It matters if there is such a thing as Truth... and if there is such a thing as Eternal Life.

If there is no God, then nothing matters.

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ.

Cordially,

Beliefs are only ideas. The real question... is the idea useful or not?

If not try another idea.

So much of society is stuck on non-useful ideas.

it matters in hte sense that if you have been brought up toi do something, you should do it before looking elsewhere.

however if you are happy how you are then it is better not to change unless you feel that it would make you happier.
