my family and I moved from the northwest to Arizona about 5 years ago - the temp this time of year is usually 105 to 120 - long story short we are leaving Phoenix and moving back to the northwest on Sunday... best of luck to you in texas, the heat and humidity there is horrendous. Hopefully you too will decide to move back to the northwest

You may have nordic ancestry like I do, and your genes are crying out for ice and snow. I was born in the American South, but I have NEVER adjusted to the heat. Often have I thought of returning to Scandinavia, the home of my ancestors. The only problem is that I would never be able to learn the Swedish language.

I have lived in Western Australia for 23 years from England and I still can't get used to the extremely hot summers.

I think it is genetic. You either have the capacity to withstand this kind of weather or not and it's not a question of acclimatising.

You didn't say where in Texas. If you're in Houston, yes, its hot "and "humid!" It's not something one easily becomes accustomed to. If I were to go home, I would grab a large glass of iced tea, eat some barbecue, and sit in an air conditioned room! Whew!
