(I am on a lookout for inexpensive lenses of 18-55mm, 55-200mm and 200-300mm focal lengths)

I agree with everything the previous guy said.
The Nikon 18-55 and 55-200 are very inexpensive and can be ordered as part of a D50 kit. If you go that way, I doubt you'll find a better deal anywhere. Note that the 55-200 already has an incredible 300mm effective reach (due to the 1.5 crop factor of the D50). This is tripod territory. Are you sure you really need an additional 200-300mm lens (450mm effective reach)?
Then, if you shop for third party lenses, companies like Sigma (also rebranded as Quantaray), Tokina and Tamron make a bunch of lenses for all camera brands. The same lens will cost the same for all brands, too. Just make sure you order the 'for Nikon' or 'F-mount' version.
You could also shop around for used gear. Any Nikon lens with auto-focus will work fine. (Most of manual focus lenses will also work but with limitations.)
Two final considerations. It's possible to get a 1.4x or 1.7x tele-converter for Nikon lenses. That might be a cheaper way to get extra reach than buying a whole new lens, but I strongly recommend against it. You lose image quality and light sensitivity, and you probably lose auto-focus and exposure metering too.
And if you have some extra cash, you could also chose to spend it on image quality instead of extra reach. For a few bucks you could upgrade the 18-55mm Nikon to a 18-70mm Nikon (the lens that comes with the D70). This is a much better lens!
Best wishes!

If you are looking for a less expensive lens for a D50,go for the third party lens like Tamran and Sigma. But I prefer nikkor lens. They are little pricy but its worth buying nikkor. You could actually see the difference. If you can spend around $750.00,go for the 18-200 mm
nikkor lens with vibration reduction. This one lens will do it all.
