If the illegal immigrants are granted amnesty and immediate voting rights they become a voting block. They will join with many other immigrants and have the ability to elect leaders. I see your rationale and its a valid point.
In Salinas, CA a very hispanic community I saw a very inept man get elected to a $70k a year county supervisors job. Having met the man I figured there was no way he wins, but in his "hispanic" district he had no chance of losing. It was sad and shocking.

Yes it is contributing and will contribute. Let me explain.
Corruption thrives where character is scarce and ignorance (meaning uneducated) is abundant. When people have little or no moral compass, it's easier for corrupt politicians to get them to support things that are immoral, wrong, and/or detrimental to our society by playing to their natural human envy, greed, and selfishness. The problem is exacerbated when the people are ignorant as well.
Most immigrants from countries, such as Mexico, are not well educated. Also, while most are Catholics, their religion would be better characterized as superstition, rather than something promoting good character and/or spiritual understanding.
I don't think we'll get as bad a Mexico, because we still have a lot of educated people and we are educating (although not very effectively) a lot of the immigrants. Plus our universities are still pretty good.

No. Our government is corrupted by the politicians already in it. If "bad Mexicans" come into our country it won't really matter because we've got "bad people" coming in from all over the world. And some of these guys mean business. Remember 9/11? Since then we've got our eyes wide open. We should worry about people who aren't here. They are the ones who plot against us. And they can do it with more freedom because we are not looking over their shoulders.

The corrupt in Mexico stay in Mexico. They're comfortable there because they're corrupt.
Those coming over have no influence over politics, so don't worry about that part of it. Where you need to worry is that we know who it is coming in and out. If they're coming looking for work, I have no questions about their character, I just don't want anyone else sneaking in with them.
"The U.S. could give a lesson....."?
Compared to who? We have the only real system of checks and balances in any country in the world. While every politician is in office to further their own cause, and the cause of everyone close to them, we have the ability to take them out, every 2-6 years. There's no other system in the world less corrupt, and I challenge anyone to name one.

Yes...the resistance to assimilate...the disrespect of the flag, these are just a few of the culture traits illegals bring with them...our government wrote the book on corruption...but...our people at least try to keep it in check...I do not see that devotion to a lawful society in illegals...

Nope. The Mexico government is corrput because they take bribes from big companies that leave Mexico's poor even more poor. As a result, the poor have to go to America to get a job picking apples to earn money to support thier family.

Yes, they will protest like the rest of the neo-Marxists in Latin America.
Although I think they are demoralized that their AMNESTY RALLIES were a total failure.
First impressions count and by waving the Mexican flags during the first day of protests they totally turned off America and the politicians. They blew it.
