I'm a big Ivey fan and believe, as well as many pros, that phil ivey is the best all around poker player. He plays in the biggest cash games, and has a remarkable tournament record.

He's known to have great instincts, and an uncanny ability to read people at the poker table. He's definitely one of the greatest, if not, the greatest poker player.

He's also played heads up against the Texas Billlionaire for millions of dollars. I think the blinds were 3000-6000 limit hold em. An article I read stated taht it went to 5000-10000 after a while. Phil was the only winner against the guy.

we'll see how he does in the Series.

Defining 'best player'' in poker has always been a daunting task. Tournaments or cash games? Short handed or ring game? In the overall category - Phil Ivey is way up there but not my first choice, maybe third and definately in the top five. In my opinion:

Best overall: Ted Forrest
Second: Barry Greenstein

To earth wind & poker: Actually the game against Andy Beal started at $30,000/$60,000 with blinds of $15,000/$30,000 and eventually moved up to $100,000/$200,000 with blinds of $50,000/$100,000. During a single session Phil was the only winner once but that feat has been repeated by others in different sessions.

If he is not the best, he is certainly among the best. He is an amazing player and he is so young that he easily could surpass legends like Doyle Brunson over the course of his career.

think the blinds where 8000-16000$, but I'm not sure, probably half the blind. But there is more people than just Phil that plays that high. I like Moneymaker or what his name was...
