Yes I have and whether or not it will "work" depends on what you want from it. I loved it and have known a lot of people who have benefitted from it. I did it for pyscho-spiritual exploratory purposes.
Are you trying to quit smoking? I know a woman who smoked for about 25 years and kept trying to quit and hypnosis was finally what did it. YET Im sure the quality and skill of the person you might go to can differ a great deal so I would select someone carefully and not pay a lot of money unless I knew something about them. Im sure there are a lot of medicore people out there with that on their shingle. I would make sure they had significant training and experience and specialize in what you are seeking. you can also ask for references. Also some folks are more suspectible to hypnosis and some people less so.

Never tried hypnotherapy but something you may want to consider is holosync technology. They have a demo cd they will mail out to you. It looks very interesting and I myself am about to order the program. Here is their site... http://www.centerpointe.com/

Yes it can work but usually it is only temporary. Some one had given me a relaxation tape a few years ago and when I listened to it it relaxed me so much I would fall asleep and when I awoke I felt pretty good.

i went a long time ago
if it helped, it wasn't until years later so i'd say not
to be fair though, i was there for something a little more complex than quitting smoking

I did it once for anxiety because it was just really severe. It seemed to help me keep calm, but it was only one time.
