Yes.
1. Lots of cheeses are made from mold.
2. Even if this mold isn't the edible cultures found in the cheese, mold spreads in spores, which are airborne and then land on things and continue to grow, just be sure you cut off the surface of all the cheese, and then maybe a quick wash too.

NO! One it has the spores on the cheese they spread. The parts in which you can see are only cause there are 100000000 spores stuck together. It only takes a single spore to enter the body and spread into what you can see on the cheese. The spores double every second. Most moulds grow at body temperature. So in the fridge they still grow but they are growing at a slow rate. Once inside of you they grow at a faster rate. Food poisoning doesnt happen right away. It might take days or months for you to become sick. One you cut it off, you would use the same knife to cut off your next piece too, which know has spores on it too ....... yukky
Just be careful. Food poisoning isnt nice, you feel like you are dying. I wouldnt eat it. Just throw it away.
Oh and i read the other peoples answers too. Yes some cheeses are made with moulds but there are good one and bad ones. The ones that grow on your food are bad ones. Its the same as yeast and bacteria. There are safe and unsafe types

I just cut the edges off and eat the inside. It still seems okay. And there are lots of specialty cheeses out there that have mold on the outside (on purpose), and you just cut those parts off the eat the cheese. I don't think it hurts as long as you cut off the moldy parts.

on hard cheeses, cutting off the mold may be ok. I personally would not do it. On softer cheeses, like mozzarella, mold can spore in and not be visible to your eye yet. Eeeew!
The trusted motto: When in doubt, throw it out!
Additional info on moldy cheese; from the Mayo Clinic dietitian Jennifer K. Nelson, R.D.: Most molds are harmless. Molds are even used to make some kinds of cheese, such as Roquefort, Gorgonzola, brie and Camembert. These molds are safe to eat. But mold on cheese that's not part of the manufacturing process can harbor harmful bacteria, such as listeria, brucella, salmonella and E. coli . With hard and semi-soft cheese, you can cut away the moldy part and eat the rest of the cheese. But soft cheeses should be discarded.

Yep, just cut it off and eat it! Molding is involved in the cheese making process itself, so there's no need to waste perfectly good cheese!

I used to work in a cheese shop for many years and as long as you cut the moldy part off and the inside looks fresh, it's definitely still good to eat.

Look, if it tastes fine, then eat it. Only don't eat the mold - just cut it off! Good appetite!

Yes, it is still good. Just cut off the mold. Cheese is aged already, so it doesn't harm your body. Remember penicillin is made from mold.
