As many multiple wives as mulitple husbands. :-) The men seem to hate that idea, while loving the thought of more than one wife, and I can't understand why...(sarcasm, there)

Good question.
Is not the answer to this dependent on the purpose you established for having a wife and the expected benefits to you for having a wife? If such be true, only you can determine how many can or will satisfy the purpose and benefits. In my view only an evaluation after some experiences in the situation of having a wife or wives will guide you in this decision.
From one view, I am sure the wives if such is put into place will have an influence on that decision. One may love you to death and then you may not get the opportunity to acquire the second. On the other hand too much of a good thing may be a disadvantage if you do find that more than one is better than only one.
It is your live and you alone must live it so make your own decision knowing in advance there is a law that says for every act or action there is a result in a reaction. All decisions do bring additional responsibilities and obligations.
I did make my own decision as to how many and am living with it. I have no problems and I do not expect any in the future. All I will say is it is more than 1 and I do support all.
