If somebody is arrested and is not being at all resistant, complying with all instructions, answering all questions, remaining quiet and not having any type of bad attitude..is there any law against an officery using profanity towards this person?

This officer said "stop f-ing around", "take the f-ing est", "you're f-ing with the machine"...I was under no circumstance rude, vulgar, or uncooperative to the officer, I knew that would get me nowhere

There is no law against general profanity unless it is sexually or racially biased, or meant to incite violence. The same laws that apply to others, apply to the police.
You can however file a complaint against the officer. If you have a witness, your chances of obtaining a sustained complaint is greater.
Note: To another poster: COPS is FAKE! It represents the 2% factor of what cops do in a given day. It is trumped up for the camera (don't you think the people being filmed know it? -- they all have to sign releases before the film is shown on TV)

Most cops think they are above the law themselves and think they can do/say anything. If you had a badge # or name of the officer, you can file a complaint, but if you dont have that info, you cant really do anything. But that officer maybe often found in that general area out side that bar so you might want to try to go back to that bar sometime and see if you can get his squad car # or name. Good luck

No. They are asked not to swear by their senior officers, but that doesn't always work.
You may always file a complain against the police, but it won't hold water in a court of law.

I am sure they legally can, but morally, there is a fine line between the policemans code of integrity or what he can or cannot do, and the law...basically if you feel berated by a cop, whether or not he uses swear words-it is probably not right for them to say it. Because, I know they cannot berate you or defame your character...I have often heard them say 'bullshit' or 'sit down asshole' but they can't racially slur you or basically get vulgar to you....you can report them...

No laws.. just departmental policies. If you do have a real problem with this then talk to internal affairs. My suggestion: Get over it.. there are worse things that could happen... like whatever you were arrested for.. you know.. that crime.. probably much worse because there was a law.. So think about why the law you broke was inacted and who it was protecting and then figure out in your head if that was worse then him cussing.
PS... officery? That would make me cuss at you.

They can call you every name in the book....ut make sure you dont call them anything profane....that's a quick trip to Station 13 (i.e. a back alley to get you *** beat and maced)
I know that from experience.....
I live in Miami and I can't speak for every police officer, but in Miami, they should be called officers of corruption....they are so above the law that there is no way to defend yourself against their 'authority'....

Oh my gosh...it's swearing.......he didn't stick his baton up your butt or physically hurt you.....get over it!
Maybe he just has a potty mouth, or had a lovely afternoon dealing with crackheads and bums.
And most people are not 100% compliant while lacking the "bad attitude" when they are being arrested.

Yes, you can file a complaint but It is hard to prove, especially if you are being arrested.
It's hard to prove physical abuse let alone verbal.
