Locks of love does not give human hair wigs to cancer patients. They sell synthetic wigs to cancer patients. They also sell human hair wigs to alopecia patients.
They collect tens of thousands of hair donations a month. Enough to make thousands of wigs a month. Yet they sell the majority of them. According to their own website, they have made "over 1000 hairpieces". For the amount of hair they collect, that is not many wigs. Besides, if your hair is coloured or heat-styled or has any other chemical treatment, they won't use it. They will sell it and it will likely end up in extensions.
Cancer patients would be so much better off if you were just to donate money to a cancer charity or hospital. I know a woman with breast cancer. She doesn't want people to cut of their hair and donate it. She doesn't want a wig. They are hot and uncomfortable. She wants a cure! She wants to be well!
So, keep your hair long. Or cut it. It is your choice. But for Pete's sake, don't think that a donation to Locks of Love will make a cancer parient's day. It won't.

Yes, it would be great to donate your hair
since someone may be in need if of due
to cancer or other illness. What a benefit
it would be to others and a blessing from
you since you cared to give. You could
do some research on which cause you'd
like to sponsor. This way you'd feel better
on the outcome. Kindness is all ways in
style. Good for you and this will be returned
to you in other ways since it is better to give
than to receive.

Yea you should its for a good cause . But be sure to donate it to locks of love . A lot of the celebs have done it . I think thats so nice . I am gonna donate my hair when it also gets long enough .

Yes! I donated my hair to locks of love about 9 months ago! I cut it while I was pregnant with my 5 month old! You get a free hair do if you do! At least at the salon I went to you do!

What ever is the desire of your heart, noble girl, but you would do more good to sell it yourself and donate the money.
More of the actual donation would go to the patients. They don't make all of it into wigs for the patients, only some of it.
You are a blessing in your heart where it counts.

As long as it's at least 10 inches long & as long as it's virgin hair (it's never been chemically processed). I think it would be very nice of you to donate it to Locks of Love(or any other organization). I'd love to do that but I dye my hair so I can't

yes! donate it to locks of love. they use it to make wigs for children with cancer. its a awesome group and if you are interested in donating your hair.. you should definately do it! i did a few years ago.. the only requirement is that the hair must be in a ponytail and it must be at least 10 inches long

well that's a nice thing to do... rather than wasting it and sweeping it off after cutting you hair. At least you can help other people esp cancer patients. God will bless you because you do think of nice ways in helping other people.

Always! Just think about how you would feel if you had no hair. locks of love is the best. And they need hair right now.
