YES. IT'S NASTY.
Every summer it tastes extra nasty because the lake is turning. But it's usually pretty bad. When I lived in Houston, you could drink water from the tap and it tasted all clean and fresh.

I live in Houston, and not long ago my neighbor knocked on my door with a water bottle full of murky water telling me this has just come out of her faucet. I don't know why I just told that story, I just felt like it was appropriate.
