We will be like Christ so His Will is ours

2006-07-20 18:06:51 · answer #1 · answered by jaimestar64cross 6 · 1 0

NO. Christians don't have free will now. God owns a Christians body now, it is bought and paid for. When we go to heaven, we will be transformed in a new body and new mind. With a Christ-like mind, a person will only have the Will of God.

James 2:26 says, “As the body without the spirit dead…” Where does that spirit go? 2 Corinthians 5:8 says, “Absent from the body… present with the Lord”. That’s why Paul said, “To die is gain”. Now, when the Lord returns in I Thessalonians 4:16-18, he brings the dead with him to come after the dead, for the dead in Christ rise first. What part does he bring with him? – The spirit that left the body, that’s been there to join the body

Now, the Bible teaches that there will come a time when we are like Christ. In Acts 15:18 it says, “known unto God are all His works...” And Christ is the 2nd member of the Trinity, and now in His heavenly body, He knows everything about everything, because He is God. That means He is Omniscient, knowing all things about all things. When we are raptured, then we get bodies and minds like His. That’s why David said in Psalms 17:15, “I shall be satisfied when I awaken with your likeness.” And when we see Jesus we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is, I John 3:2. So there’s an hour coming when we get these new bodies and new minds, and then we will be all knowing. And not until then. So nobody in the heavenlies now can see what’s going on.

In Luke 15, whenever anyone is converted upon the earth, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over 1 sinner that repents, because the message is relayed to the angels, and the angels relay it throughout the heavenlies.

Of course not... There's barely free will on earth if you believe the bible. How can there be a master plan, and how can god watch over us and guide lives without interfering with free will? It's impossible.

The other option is that none of that really exists and we should take the time to observe our world and find out the truth.

Yes... that is an answer that is not specificaly spoken to in The b
Bible... But it can be implied through study of God's word... Free will it's self is not mentioned in the Bible Specificaly but clearly it is a fact... However...as those who make it to heaven will have access to truths that we mortals here now do not... It is also a inplied truth that knowing The Truth it will be a moot point...because all will want to do God's will... willingly :-)

It won't be in heaven- we'll be in God's kingdom here on earth! Yeah- there will be free will- BUT none of the bad will ever be known. No more suffering, crying, evil, NOTHING! All that will be forgotten!

You will be free to do as you please- since all you'll be able to do is good anyway.

Logically it would have to be NO.

Angels don't have free will they just OBEY. So it goes to follow that if you no longer had any ties to your mortal coil there would be no need for you to have free will either since you are in "his" presence.

No more questions about the meaning of life, no more wondering if you're going to Hell or not, etc.

Good question.

The answer is Yes.

I am speaking of the Christian Heaven ...

(I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ... e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

Cordially,
John

I would put this anser in the category of:
Of course.

God will take the sinful nature away. That's one thing that will be different. No ability to sin anymore.

I just want to thank Him in advance for that. I am so sick of myself sometimes!

Yes there will. However, we won't sin! We'll have our glorified bodies!
