i am not going to starve or harm my body in any way im just going to excerise and try to be healthy

Girl I understand! I was a fat little something when I was younger. If you really feel like you want to lose weight you should sit your parents down and get them to understand your situation. If they don't listen then you should just take matters into your own hands. Go for walks. After school ask your parents if you can go for a walk. Eat less and healthier. It's hard. But it works. And it takes alot of discipline so you must learn to adapt to it. When your family is out grocery shopping and you see that new candy bar that looks so good to try, don't buy it. Instead think of fruits as candy bars. Why not? It's sweet like a candy bar. It's delicious like a candy bar. So why not? Never starve yourself! It's the worst thing you can do. I never tried it and look at me now. But no matter how big you think you are you should never look at yourself as ugly and unattractive. You're just as beautifuls as the skinny supermodels in those fashion magazines. So don't let your weight put you down. Excercise is much harder than healthy dieting so you should just start by eating less and healthier. When you get skinnier you get more of the energy and inspiration to exercise.

Be really careful. Part of your question makes it sound like you are focused on your appearance. Appearances do not matter as much as overall health.

If you think that you are unhealthy, by all means, enjoy doing physical activity. Usually 10-year-olds have plenty of things they can do outside that they enjoy. Just play on the playground at school or ride your bike or something, but not to exercise, just to have fun. If you're having fun, your health will usually take care of itself.

If you are more concerned about your weight and appearance than health, this is a sign that something is wrong. Please talk to your parents about your concerns and the stresses you feel in your life.

Well, it depends on how "fat" you think you are. Generally, you should listen to your parents...but if you're still unhappy, the best thing is to do exercise, that way, if you're "fat" you will lose weight, if you're not, it will still be good and healthy for you. But whatever you do, don't eat "nothing" or very little coz' your body won't be able to cope with it properly. GOOD LUCK!!! =D

At ten years old you really shouldn't be worrying about it...but if your really concerned type BMI in the yahoo search engine it should pull up some sites that will ask you a few questions and be able to tell you if you are overweight or not (without parental bias). I would just suggest trying to eat more fruit & veggies and get more exercise.

I wouldn't try to lose weight at your age unless a doctor specifically advises you to. You're still growing and need nutrients and things that you may accidentaly miss if you diet. You can always exercise anyway, however, as that improves all-around health and helps you stay in good spirits.

don't listen to your parents because they will never tell you bad things about you and thats actually a good thing but ask you friends or compare ur self to ur friends and if you feel insecure then go ahead and do it. but i'll say you are only 10 u'll grow out of it even if you dont try to lose weight

Exercise and healthy eating are fine, but listen to your parents. Trying to lose weight by dieting or extreme exercise while you are still growing, if you are within the normal range, is unnecessary and could be harmful.

You are 10. Unless you are actually really fat, just be a 10 year old. Listen to your parents. Despite the fact that you will think you are smarter than them for the next 20 years, you are not. They will always know more than you.

Exercise and eating healthy is great. There is such a thing, though, as exercising too much (certainly never something I'd be accused of, but some people do work out too much). Listen to your parents, though. I'm sure you are beautiful.
