We are witnessing the decline of the earth’s environment and resources, a prophetic fulfillment of the Bible.
At the Fourth SEAL, one-fourth part of the earth is to be destroyed before we move forward to the next Seal events (Re.6:7-8 below).
Once the one-fourth part is destroyed, we will move through the SEAL events, followed by the Seven TRUMPET events, and, finally, the Seven Last PLAGUE events.
When the world faces acts of terrorism are we not facing beasts of the earth (Re.6:8, Jude 1:10-11, Titus 1:12, 2 Pet.2:11-13 below)?
Re.6:7And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
Re.6:8And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the FOURTH PART of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Beasts of the Earth
Jude 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
Jude 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain (1 Jn.3:12, Matt.13:38), and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
Titus 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
2 Pet 2:11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
2 Pet.2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
2 Pet.2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

GRRRR. Both you and JT have committed my pet peeve. It is the book of REVELATION, no s, not the Book of Revelations.
Funny, I was just reading in the Gospel of Matthew today where Jesus said no man knows the day or the hour of the world's end, but that we should always be ready. It seems that the world has always been in "great tribulation." It seems also, though, that disasters, man-made and otherwise, are happening at a faster rate. It may well be the beginning of the "birthpangs."
But we are NOT to be afraid, and should instead be happily and eagerly LOOKING for the Lord's return. We should be good stewards and take care of our house (and the earth itself, and the people who live here, Christians or not) so that God will find us busy doing what we are supposed to do when He comes back.

The world is never going to end. God is going to refurbish the earth one day and it will be "perfect" again. All prophecies ever recorded for us have come to pass. The prophecies telling us about what's to come is happening before our eyes. Watch the news, then read the Bible. Daniel, Ezekiel, Revelations, for example. Hard times are coming and they are going to get worse.

Please be mindful that literally every age. . .including the start of the Common Era (time of Jesus and his direct disciples). ..has believed the world is near and end and the scriptural prophesies available to them at the time (for the last 1,000+ years - the Bible incl. Revelation!) confirm this.
Note: At the start of the Common Era. . .the world DID come to an end. . .for the Jews living in Judea. . .Herod's Temple was completely destroyed in 70 AD (and has not yet been rebuilt) as were literally thousands of Jews slain. . .one of the worst massacres in Jewish history.
That said. . .there is an entirely different. . .and very practical. . .approach to Revelation. . .it is a Message to the Seven Churches. . .situated in Asia Minor (now Turkey) and Greece. . .each apparently facing different and unique "trials" or "tribulations" that were threatening their survival and continuation. . .which would have spelled an end to Christianity when you consider, at the time, that Christianity was originally a branch of Messianic Judaism and the eventual need (for sustainability sake) to break away ultimately from Judaism.
The amazing thing. . .were you to apply this seven-fold Message to the health of individual Christian denominations and their respective branch churches or parishes today. . .it is still true. . .as there remains a threat to the very survival of Christianity. . .as the Church grows and thrives through fellowship, and sharing the Gospel, in the context of having local places of worship throughout the world!
Hope this helps.

Yes, the prophecies tell what will happen and desribe how the events will occur.
Other places to look in order to identify the end times are Mathew 24 and Mark 13.

The Invisible Pink Unicorn and the Flying Spaghetti Monster have yet to form an alliance. And Buddha still sucks at Poker, so I think we still have at least 25, maybe 30 centuries left....
Seriously though, Revalation is a load of garbage, possibly inspired in large part by hallucinagenic mushrooms.

The various prophecies in the Bible are many and detailed. The very first one is at Genesis 3:15.
There are then many more in Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Matthew, 2 Timothy, Hebrews, Revelation. Yes I know I have skipped over a lot of them but these books seem to have the most difficult ones to understand; and it seems these are also the most telling ones.
What they all boil down to is in several parts.
1. The establishment of Gods right to rule, His Sovereignity, the universe as the creator of all things.
2. The sanctification of Gods Name.
3. The efforts God has taken to show mankind how to live and the principles that he expects of all creation.
4. The continual warnings he has given mankind before each and every concluding judgment he has made against those who do not follow those principles.
5. And finially, the love he has for mankind in providing not only the warnings but the method for salvation of those who do listen to his laws and regulations based upon his principles.
Today is very much like those days at the time of Noah, that were told of in the Bible. Before God executed judgement He gave a warning -- the preaching work of Noah and his family. God provided an excape also in the Ark. Yes, today is very much like that time "and they paid no attention and the flood swept them all away."
Today a warning is being given from the Bible. From Matthew 24:3-14. Jesus is speaking to his disciples explaining the signs of the "end of the system of things." It sure sounds like these times to me. Again at 2Timothy 3:1-4 it tells of how mankind would treat one another to quote "1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God," Sure sounds like a lot, if not most, of the people you see in the news. In Revelation -- There are things there that fit just about every type of problem we are having today. Wars, Famine and the list goes on. People hating people of their own same religion. Going to war with one another within their own country and killing their neighbors simply because they are of a different tribe. Waging political war based upon WHAT? Massive dishonesty. And it all goes on and on.
What is good and right is that God is giving us warnings right now today. He has shown us in the Bible that there is an end coming to this madness and that it is coming very soon.
The link below will give you some idea as to what God has promised us and how he intends to keep that promise.

In my own opinion I believe it is not too far away. But nobody knows. But all I can tell you if we worry about when the end is coming. Why Because with faith you there should be no need to worry. Myself if I'm here when the worlds ends well. Then I am. But I am going to heaven. I have faith that I will receive eternal life. So let it end.

Well, I don't think it means the end of the world. It can be hard to understand all of Revelations. If God created the earth and mankind - I don't think he'd destroy it all. I don't think his original purpose has changed. Maybe someday it'll all be back to being like it was before Adam and Eve sinned.
