Do catholics believe in circumcision? and Y? thx?

my nefew's parents are catholic and they gave him a religious circumcision. so idk much about the religious reasons why they did it?

I believe that depends on the Catholic. Circumcision these days (Unless you are Jewish) is not always based on your Religion. Sometimes the simple reason for circumcision is "Well, Dad was circumsised so they had me done as well." Yes some of these are devout Catholics. Jewish people however are a different story. Every Jewish human being that I have met believes that as a part of his/her religion and treat it to exactly the last letter. I have not studied on how the act of Circumcision is performed outside of my own country, but it is believed that some Jewish people still remove the foreskin with their teeth.

How can people gather together and cut off the tip of a babys foreskin, all in the name of god?

It is obvious that it is a tradition that started many hundreds of years ago by some perverted priest, who enjoys fondling baby boys junk! And for some reason it is not outlawed in this country because it is 'religious freedom'.

How about child cruelty laws? How can a fertilized egg get more protection than a real, live human baby? (p.s. George Bush is an idiot)

The Roman catholic religion is based soley on superstition. I have never heard of RCs being circumcised in the past for religious reasons so that is a new one on me. But they do believe in worshiping idols praying to Mary instead of Jesus, getting to heaven by their own means instead of Christ having finished the redeeming work on the cross and they believe that their god is is piece of toast!
They also believe that their priests are greater than their god as they command their god to obey the priest and come into a bit of bread when the priest tells him to!
They believe that their priests have the power to forgive sins when clearly the Bible tells us that only God can forgive sins and they go against the words of the Holy Scriptures making their teaching Superior to the Bible which is Gods Holy word.
The RC church is a money making institution and enjoys the power that brings as it rules governments and promises to bring down countries that do not obey their teachings. The RC religion is mentioned in revelation as THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATION OF THE WORLD.

Your friends are not practicing true catholicism if they had a religious circumcision. That was part of the jewish law in the old testiment. Circumcisions are done for hygienic reasons now.

Catholics do not care whether boys are circumsized or not . . .it's a personal choice.

Circumcision is common practice in all American hospitals, because of the health issues. There are less infections & bacteria, if the penis is circumcized, but, it's still up to the parents. I believe it first started with the Jews for the same reason.
