Thank you I stand corrected. I will from now attempt to refrain from dignifying those who slander purposely or who misrepresent us Christians by answering them. I just do not appreciate that others who call themselves followers of Christ lead some to believe we are all that way. Thank you for your loving correction.
Peace be With You,
Debra

It's people like you that are reason why there is war and hunger. One sided views of others without looking at what you're doing, wasn't there some stupid verse in one of the ten thousands bibles versions that said something about casting the first stone? You did my friend (not friend), this is a place were people that don't know something ask questions and people like me who (if i know) answer them. I'll agree with you that there are a lot of bull sh!t question that go on here, but don't start bad mouthing everybody for second guessing what might have happened two thousand years ago. You're worse than the people you judge.

I guess the same could be said for Christians who insult other faiths or lack of faiths in here. Lets face it folks, this type of open forum for questions is open to everyone and that is going to attract all kinds, even those that not everyone wants to hear from. Yes, you are going to get your share of people who just want to aggravate a group or individual but in the end by insulting them back or harshly condemning them is going to be giving them just what they want. Probably the best thing that can be done if you read a question or answer that is just insulting is ignore it and be happy that you don't have to live day in and day out with that individual. If the person is being abusive with language then by all means report them but just remember even if they are banned from Yahoo!answers there is nothing stopping them from just coming back with a new name and ID. So if you ignore them you strip them of their power to get a laugh at your expense.

As frustrating as it maybe at times, I have to disagree with you. I look at the questions as perhaps that little mustard seed planted in all of us. They maybe looking for the truth?! Why else would they be in this section? Something interest's them that is here. I like the questions that seem to try and disprove us/the Bible etc... because there is a quality answer out there from me, you or whoever but it is there I just hope they will read with an open mind and perhaps follow up with the info they have obtained.
Don't look at it as an insult...remember you have the truth that they seek! We are commanded to spread the word, I look at this as trying to do that a little bit everyday. You never know, you may open someones eye's to the truth on the other end of that question!

I try to pick what seem to be honest questions about The Christian Faith... or which show and honest misunderstanding... but some times.. I just cant help smarting back to an obvious hater...But, you are correct... The best thing any of The Christian Faith could do would be to totaly ignore the obviouse attempt to incite upset in those of The Faith.
Just ignore them... for the most part I think they have a perverse pride in getting reported

a desire to report those who 'insult' your religion just makes you seem so muslim. are you sure you're christian? well, christians ought to be able to confront the criticism of their religion, not try to ban it (so, are you a muslim? or just a soviet?)
since we know that the text of the bible was chosen by emperor constantine, that it contains many many contradictions, that several of the books were written hundreds of years after the death of christ, that things were made up and tossed in and things were taken out (like jesus saying in the gospel of judas that his disciples were fools and worse who would lead everyone astray,) it well behooves all of us to understand what it is we are acutally 'believing' in.
If you only believe because you've been told the bible is true, and you've never learned where it comes from, then you are willfully accepting ignorance and brainwashing. why? Why are you setting yourself up to be controlled and abused by the power hungry? because you don't want to disappoint mommy, daddy, preacher, the ladies in the 'bible study' that never truly study it?
read Misquoting Jesus, a scholarly and demanding work on the actual texts of the bible.
again, a desire to report those who 'insult' your religion just makes you seem so muslim. are you sure you're christian?

I am an atheist and consider at least half the "questions" posted in this section to be either juvenile or crudely insulting (to some group or another).
But, it never occurred to me that I should impose my own standards on others. Nor did it occur to me that everyone should only post "questions" that met some arbitrary standard that I set.
The point of all that is if you are offended, why don't you go elsewhere? Or, why don't you NOT click on the "question?"
People who try to impose their own "values" on others are more annoying than the crudely insulting or juvenile.
BTW, this is in reference to your suggestion that questions you consider insulting should be reported.

actually, I answer those questions just because I believe that they are ill-informed about our faith, and I have actually been chosen best answer for some of them! I was shocked probably every time on one of those. but yeah, they admit thatthey heard somthing and thought it was true, now characters like jackbauer (not the real one!) and a few others, are not going to admit that, but I'll give you the fact that some questions are best not asked, and yeah, report them, but maybe they just didn't know! thats my side!

I would follow the guidelines for abuse reporting when reporting abuse. Disagreeing with the Christian faith is not against the Yahoo rules. God allows Christians to be persecuted in real life, too, and somehow, he expects us to try to get along with all men.
I'd reserve abuse reporting for really dangerous situations, like someone linking to porno, or trying to get kids to send him pictures, stuff like that.

Good idea.
Very mature decision. Obviously, you're not an 8th grader. *smile*
Not only that, but as a Christian; It would be the BEST way we could choose to witness..."turn the other cheek" lol
God Bless.
(I hope others get the hint as well)

Yes: Ignoring them is a good choice. Sometimes, I do...
No: If I have an opportunity to witness for Jesus...I will.
