I use to know a goth christian in high school and I don't remember any bible verses that said not to wear a lot of black clothing.

People associate goth with Satan because of the light dark dichotomy between good and evil. But, anyone who has ever known any goths, I guess you call them 'darks,' will know that being goth has no direct correlation to being a Satanist.

I can't really say I can understand why you would want to be 'emotionless.' Emotions are part of what makes this life interesting. But, to each their own.

As long as your relationship with God and your family is healthy and intact, there really shouldn't be anything to worry about. I think your parents and friends are just concerned because they are worried that you are headed down a self-destructive path. You yourself said that you feel "emotionless", and to be honest that isn't a good thing. "Emothionless" can lead to "depressed" in a heartbeat.

I personally am a man nearly obsessed with life's darker things. I love horror of all sorts: movies, books, you name it. I have forgotten more about supernatural creatures and mythology than most people will ever learn. Although repulsed, I am fascinated by the darker side of men's souls. However, just looking at me, one would never guess that. I'm happy, I don't wear undue amounts of black, and I always walk around with a goofy-looking grin on my face.

All I'm trying to say is that there is nothing wrong with being "dark", but there's no need to sacrifice your happiness to do so. If being goth is really your bag, go for it. If you're just trying to make a statement, though, those external things aren't necessary.

honey, if they got a problem with how u look, how u dress, and how u act, tell them 2 mind their own business and get a life. Who u r is who u want 2 b and ur happy with urself. u can't change urself just 4 someone. It doesn't matter what or who u r, God still loves u no matter what and He put u here 4 a reason: 2 tell people 2 start having respect 4 and stop judging dark/gothic people cuz they're just regular human beings and there's nothing 2 b afraid of. Keep doing ur thing, sweetie, and tell those jerks not 2 judge u by the way u look but 2 accept u 4 who u r as a person.

How you dress shouldn't make a difference, it is a choice. However you must understand that people are going to make judgments about you based on how you look for that is the first thing they have to judge. (Yes I know we shouldn't judge others but how many people can HONESTLY say that when they look at someone they don't make a judgment). If someone wants to accuse you of being 'evil' because you are all in black you can remind them that in almost all faiths it is the holy man that wears black for protection from evil (for that is what the color black means).

One thing I have to admit that I don't understand is calling it Goth. Lets face it, none of the people wearing these outfits were around when they sacked the Roman Empire and I would bet that most of them don't even know what it originally ment to be truly Goth.

Some Christians are judgemental.
I have pink streaks in my hair quite often, and I dress in darker clothing sometimes. I don't see a problem with it. I have tattoos, and piercings and I work in a tattoo shop(I'm a body piercer). Aparently this is not what a 'typical Christian' looks like according to some people.

I study the Bible daily, I read books on Christianity aswell.
I've yet to read Jesus's guidelines for what a typical Christian attire. As Christians we no longer follow the the old doctrine in the Old Testamint.
I love the Lord Jesus, and I know that Jesus will not Judge me because he alone died for my sins. Jesus taught us not to judge.
Your not a satanist for what you wear. Your friends are judging you for the wrong reasons. Express yourself.Be who you are.

nothing is wrong with that. be who you are. your right god never said you couldnt be dark. i mean i know a lot of people who are "dark" and they dont worship the devil. and even if you dont "believe" it doesnt mean you worship the devil either. what ever happens though you just need to express yourself and hope for the best but dont be expectin it. good luck!

Nothing's wrong with that, be anything you want to be. I'm goth too. Just because you're goth doesn't believe you worship satan. I definitely don't. You are here to exercise your free agency. Express yourself.
