what is involved in the Marines? someone please tell me what theyre all about, obviously they go to war i know that but like, i need some information. im really devestated over someone i have a major crush ( i really like him) is thinking of going, and i want to know some information.
PLEASE HELP!!

i think your asking a bunch of guys here. As a Marine Wife i can tell you a lot of them are immature and just out to have an adventure in their new brotherhood but; there are the few who are faithful and do love their girlfriends and wife's,. The Marine Corps. teaches them respect and honor and They live their lives God, Corps, country, family, but if you're willing to be along for the ride good luck and be sure your a strong individual who enjoys alone time. I know lots of married couples who have been together since their Marine was a lance Cooley. but thats 3 levels above what your crush will be as a recruit. If you like him ask him to explain why he's joining and maybe he'll educate you

The Marines are just part of the military. Some one goes into the military to serve there country. When you go into the military you go where your country need you. The military is just young people serving there country, so you and I can be free. I should know I served this country for 24 years in the Navy, and prouder I did. So if this person wants to go into the Marines stand behind him, he is doing what he wants to. The only thing I can tell you is hope he is safe and comes home, where every he is sent. To only thing I can see is that he wants to serve his country, and the Marines is one of the best. Just remember our Military are keeping use safe, and make it safe for us to sleep at night. I will never be sorry for serving in the Navy, that's some thing I wanted to do. I hope this will make you feel better about the Military, the way I see it its just a job, but a job you Can be proud of. Take care and good luck.

Kid, The Marines are the best, how do I know? I spent 30 years fighting for you. What is involved is a long line of history, the fact that you asked this question tells me you should pay more attention in school and you would understand. You throw the word devastated around, you are to young to know the meaning of the word. If you want to know what the Marines are about study your history. Get a clue Kid! As for your friend, I Give him my respect. Go for it, you will learn more about yourself and this great country than you will ever believe possible. You will learn the meaning of the phrase "Semper Fi" When you earn that you will know what it means to be a Marine. And then you can explain it to your girlfriend that has no clue! do you not think every person over in IRAQ has someone back in the states that love them........ you are being very selfish.....
and look at the military in Afghanistan, do you not think they have someone back in the states that love them.....
So you have a crush on him. Big deal. So since its a crush your a teeny bop. If a person is willing to help out his fellow soldiers, and Marines, then let him do it.
Right now your putting your own needs in front of his. Does he even like you or know you. Since it is a crush it can be anything serious............
You would not be the only American sitting at home everyday and nite praying that a loved one would not die in combat......

Jessica, if you really like him, then support him, let go of your fears, the US Marines are among the bravest of our military forces, and statistically speaking a person is at greater risk of being injured, or killed while driving on any major US hi-way.

the marines were originall a landing first force on beach heads they are still considered one of the first in forces but not always so they sre very good at sticking together in the field there creado say never leave a man behind.
