Muslim POV. God wants you to ask him all the time for things as long it is not something that breaks God's law. You can ask for wealth, children, house, any other material gain. These things are important as long it does not distract you from your obligations to pray, giving money to the poor, family, society. Our religion teaches us that the essence of worship is supplication because through supplication we gain a strong bond with our Creator...especially when our prayers are answered. If it is not answered then God has other things in store for you and that material gain is not for you benefit. We focus more on asking for the eternal paradise, hereafter, protection from hell, forgiveness because in the end that is what counts. I think you would opt for the eternal rather than this temporary life. Further we say you cannot just ask God to give you material or spiritual gains without following the commands laid out in the Quran or the example of the Last Prophet. The merciful God may answer your supplications due to your sincerity but to be really sincere you must know your Creator and worship correct way. Even God accepts the prayers of a non-Muslims because at the time of supplication they are really sincere and asking God alone (not Jesus the Messenger).
One of the best supplications that the Last Prophet often repeated was "Give us the good in this life and give us the good in the hereafter and save us from the punishment of the hell-fire"
That pretty much sums it up. And only God knows what is good for you...right.
Like to End with Quran Verse
God says to the Prophet tell them
"When My servants ask you about Me, I am near, I respond to the supplication of anyone who prays to Me. Let them, then, respond to Me and believe in Me so that they may be rightly guided." ·(2;186)
How beautiful. May God guide you. Peace be upon you.llll

Nope...
It is a matter of spiritual maturity though... as a baby Christian we can ask and ask and ask for stuff from God... and God will often answer and provide...
But as we mature as Christians, it is God's purpose that we grow in character and other-orientedness, so that we bless others, rather than always ask for ourselves...
God blesses us so that we will bless others.
This is a pattern that is consistent through the Bible.
(Note: The health and wealth gospel is mistaken -- Jesus did NOT die so that we would be healthy and wealthy... He died so that we could come into relationship with God... He died so that as we mature as Christians, we will ultimately follow his example, take up our cross, and follow him through the humiliation, the mocking, the pain, the suffering, and the shame... )
I dont know if you have noticed. Alleged "Christians" who do not take a stand for Christ, and do not take a stand on (or for) anything of any moral significance -- are loved by the world. However Christians who take a stand for Christ (and for anything of moral significance) are mocked, ridiculed, hated by the world (and in many Muslim and Atheistic Countries, such Christians are killed).
Cordially,
John

God wants to hear from you All the time about Any and Everything. It doesn't matter how minuscule it seems. You'd be surprised the small miracles we receive everyday!
Every time I find a penny - I always say "thank you lord" it makes he happy and I'm sure he appreciates that I am grateful for small things.
I was told you can ask for help with ANYTHING: losing an earring; car keys, phone numbers...
I'll tell you what - I receive these little miracles in moments!
Immediately I say "thank you God, you're so good to me!

He would not be disillusioned with asking Him for issues too lots as long as you supply each and every little thing to Him. that contains your existence. that's what the Apostles did and that they on no account felt lack even in persecution. yet, in simple terms as a results of fact which you ask would not recommend you will continuously acquire what you like. many situations he will supply you something you probably did not even comprehend you mandatory and what a blessing it fairly is.

No, I think God wants us to be comfortable enough with him that we could ask him for anything, just as if he were one of your physical friends. In fact God's Word says "ask and ye shall receive"(however this is on his time not ours)

no, but also try praying for other things too. Such as your loved one's health and happiness, they need it just as much as you do! And always remind God about how grateful you are to have Him as your father, and thank him for being there as well.

Ask away..He wants us to know that we can depend on Him and come to Him for ALL our needs AND wants. The one condition is that we do not ask against His will ...so, first determine if you really know Him or just are imagining some fuzzy, all-powerful being who doesn't care what you do or don't do, find out what His will is for your life, and ask, ask, ask. He WILL answer! "Seek and ye shall find, knock and it will be opened to you, ask and it will be given to you".

Maybe not, because people tend to go to him only when they need something, then put him in the back of their mind...and by the way it sounds..you are thinking of him alot! Though it sounds as if he might be telling you that you are being selfish..because you are questioning yourself!
** As long as you live your life the way he wanted you to, then you are giving back to him what he gave/ and still giving to you!**

god would be very upset, and would probably give you the opposite of what you ask for, and you deserve it. Don't ask god for help, do things for yourself.

God is our Father and we can ask him for whatever we think we need. But in the end his answer could be "No!" I think about it this way, I may pray for rain for my flowers but my neighbor could be praying for sunshine. God gives us what we need when we need it.
