'adam and eve not adam and steve' so the argument goes. fair enough, but if this is you view then are you not supporting incest? adam and eve had children (two boys) and they had children. I have been told by various christians that incest is wrong (I agree) but it was necessary at the time to populate the human species. so based on that wouldn't that mean that come the time that the world becomes over populated and can no longer support life, would god then not encourage homosexuality to curb the population growth?

haha....well first off, Adam and Eve had alot more than 2 kids. They just aren't all mentioned because it would be stupid and pointless to list them. And there are 3 boys mentioned directly in the bible.

secondly, While incest is considered wrong, no, more along the lines of taboo, now. There are genetic reasons why it is wrong today. When Adam and Eve were created, they were perfect, genetically speaking. So if their children were to intermarry, they would not have the same genetic disabilities that we have today. Infact, the first known cases of incest being harmful to the offspring was when the Egyptian royalty would commit incest generation after generation to keep the blood "royal". This produced medically, and mentally, fragile individuals. So today the human race is so broken down genetically and ridden with genetic and hereditary diseases that it would be foolish to commit incest.

Thirdly, if you're still actually reading this, your two theories are completely unrelated. Whether or not incest is, or was, wrong has nothing to do with god saying "holy crap I messed up. So I've changed my mind, it's fine by me to be gay."

Now I'm not against gay people, most of my friends are gay. But how I feel personally and how Adam and Eve acted or felt, has nothing to do with "God's decision" on homosexuality.

Homosexuality is never the answer. You're misunderstanding the proper place of sexuality.

Sex is not just about reproduction. It is a sacred gift given to man and woman by God as a physical celebration of the sacrament of marriage, and a sharing in the creative power of God.

The sexual act mirrors the love between Christ and God. I'm not saying at all that God and Christ have sex. I'm simply explaining that married couples share that same love with each other, but are able to express it in a deep, intimate physical way. And from that love comes children, which is how married couples share in God's creative power - they are creating life with each other.

None of these things can happen with homosexuality. It goes completely against the natural order set up by God. It never shares in the love of Christ and God, and can never, ever, share in the creative power of children.

Human beings are the only species on earth that do this. Nowhere in nature will you find two animals of the same gender mating, like two males dogs or two female elephants. It doesn't happen. Human beings are the only ones that do this.

But Cain went off to find a wife In Another Land.

Incest was not the case here, according to the text itself.

See, homosexual marriage is not okay because homo's can't make babies. Of course, the whole purpose of marriage is to make babies. Even if you're a lesbian and have artificial insemination done by your wife (I know a couple and their lovely daughter), that doesn't count as "making babies." Does it now. Or if you're gay and you adopt as a single father, then have a spouse later on (since you can't adopt if you're gay, your children will be gay too you know, and that would indeed be horrible).

That in mind, old people should not marry. Nor should sterile people, or aything like that...

And of course, we definitely need for everyone to pop out new babies, screw taking care of the unwanted ones that are already out there. That is why gays can't marry. Because it's all about propagating the species, yo!

God would never encourage homosexuality, because he already called it an "abomination" and God never makes mistakes. God also doesn't Create homosexuals, they are deviants who decided to be that way on their own. There is no such thing as a child who is gay from the start.

Whatever. Gays shouldn't argue about the right to marry, since Christians invented marriage anyways.

The Bible as any written scripture is a book written by man. Man has many different ways of explaining what he means. His words have changed over the years. The Bible among other scriptures in my view, should be taken into context as metaphorical. Eg. The mother Mary was a Virgin. (This is hyperthetical for the nature of my explanation) Perhaps a Virgin back in that time was a cleansed woman. So after they had made love, if the female was cleansed she was then a Virgin again. This has flaws such as 'That would mean that many females would have been Virgin mothers.' Hence why I stated hyperthetical. However, it does give an idea of what I am trying to say. Perhaps back then, they worded themselves differently or had different meanings. This does not change the fact that your knowlege on the subject seems to me inaccurate as one person has already stated. I do believe that you need to look further into the Bible, but take certain things as nothing more than a metaphor.

Could it be that other people were put on the earth too even though Adam and Eve were the first? We don't really have every fact. Incest is wrong and God does not change. He does not support homosexuality and never will.

why would God promote something that he states is against the natural use of the body? Man for the woman and woman for the man. We all have free will --- we can choose Jesus and Salvation or we can follow after our own desires and do that which is against us --- whether it's homosexuality, adultery, murder, promiscuity, stealing, etc ---the list is extensive.
Adam and Eve were created by God -- (not born of parents). In further reading of scriptures you will find they had other children not just two.... they lived hundreds of years being sustained by God and they produced many children (how many --- we don't know but the bible states there were other children) ---
Population growth isn't so overwhelming due to diseases, natural disasters, killings, wars, birth control etc....

Can you people get over it !!! The Bible was the inspired word of God, not Gods words. Inspired means to breath life into, we are all inspired by God, so does that mean everything we say is the word of God?
No one chooses to be male or female, we are born that way. And if anyone believes that people really choose to be gay, you have another think coming, why would you put yourself through that?!?
I don't believe God would encourage homosexuality, but, there is evolution. All I can say is, live your life as best as you can and don't cast the first stone ,or you may feel a thump on the back of your head.

He wouldnt use something he had said was wrong...

Incest is bad now because of genetic defects.

In the case of Adam and Eve and their immediate descendants, God protected them from genetic defects (that would otherwise arise from incest).

Cordially,
John

Adam and Eve were not the only ones. Adam had a wife before Eve and her name was Lilith.
