Speaking for myself, it is not people from another country coming to live in the USA that I have a problem with, it is criminals coming into the USA that I have a problem with.

Anyone who will come to the USA illegally is a felon. They are willing to break the law to get what they want. They do not respect the laws of this country, and so they have already placed themselves among the group of worst qualified to be American Citizens.

What about the law abiding citizens of other countries who respect the laws and go through all the red tape and waiting periods (sometimes more than 10 years) to enter this country as law abiding immigrants? How can someone justify placing these people in the same group as the criminals who violate the law and live a lie every day by being here illegally? To provide amnesty is to disrespect the law and the law-abiding legal immigrants.

Amnesty is a bad idea. The last time it was done, it opened the floodgates by telling the world, "you can break our laws, we don't enforce them because we don't respect them, so neither should you."

Amnesty cannot be the solution. We don't reward people for breaking the law. If they stay there must be a punishment. Not jail time, but something. A small price to pay for illegally living off the tax dollars of the greatest country in the world, and getting to stay.

Besides, true amnesty would be: OK, go home and we'll not pursue charges, we'll just forget you were ever here.

What most people call "amnesty" is really a "pardon".

Amnesty does not make them legal, it makes them rewarded criminals. When will all you illegal supporters realize that you are supporting criminal activity in your own country? Wow the hypocrisy baffles my mind! It's so simple......ask a Kindergartner if her classmate should be given a lollipop for stealing her crayons.....she'll straight up tell you, NO way Jose. With what you illegal supporters are suggesting.....ask that child the same question when she gets to 3rd grade and she'll answer...well of course she deserves a lollipop....she was only trying to better herself...it's not her fault she had to steal to have crayons....she struggled and worked hard to become a thief. That's what you're teaching your children when you support illegals or amnesty. Hey kids...when someone commits a crime against you, give that person some candy and a great big hug. Wow! Why don't we just dissolve our entire Judicial system? Who needs justice, police, courts, judges, lawyers and prisons if we have no desire to hold criminals accountable?
PUNISHMENT FOR CRIMINALS! NOT REWARD!

Illegal means exactly that.
The "amnesty" program is a desperation move on the part of the Republicans. It's the only way they can attract the Espanic votes. Which by the way is projected to make up 1/2 the population ten years from now.
Welcome to Mexamercanada! If you are'nt a minority now, you will be!

No. Why allow amnesty for illegal immigrants (humans) who broke the law. Legal immigrants followed the process of coming here legally. Why reward a criminal with a free pass. It is happening too much in our own court systems already, which I don't agree with. Let's give all people in America amnesty first. That means letting everyone go in prison to start over, free of charge. Prisoners convicted of crimes are human too.

not really, as soon as they are legal then they will want their piece of the American pie. They have shown that they are tough and determined by the risk and effort the made to get here. This means they will educate themselves, and move up the economic ladder quickly. this will leave the under the table jobs empty, to be filled by the illegal Chinese boat people. the Cycle will only continue until you start punishing the black market employers who feed off of these low wage people.

So exactly what will giving them amnesty accomplish?

Oh Yeah- it will reward them for being criminals.
Sounds ok to me. NOT!!!!!!!!!

Catch A Clue!

It is not ok for them to be here at all.Why are some people ok with this whole situation?

It doesn't bother you that someone has snuck into your house and moved in without your permission and you have no right to kick them out?

No..Amnesty is a reward for illegal behavior...amnesty has been tried before and has failed every single time...It's not like these criminals don't know that they are doing something wrong...they don't care...They don't even want amnesty themselves...they just don't care ...I don't know why people just cant understand that...
