Besides from problems it can bring on heartwise, I was wondering if there were any side effects weight wise. I started dieting, and instead of having a morning cup of coffee (or 2), I drink a sugar free Red Bull instead, only has 10 calories, but a bit of sodium. I need my caffine, and I love tea and drink it as well but it doesn't give me the kick I need in the mornings. Do you think this will be a significant bottleneck to my diet?

A sugarfree Red Bull, having only 10 calories, will not throw a wrench in the machinery that is your diet. Red Bull uses artificial sweeteners produced in laboratories (either aspartame or sucralose). Sceintists have still not come to a consensus on the long term effects of these chemicals.

However, why kick the coffee? It's more natural and may even have some health benefits. Unless you are adding excessive amounts of sugar or cream, the calorie content is very low.

In any case, best of luck!
