my first 2 were 22 months apart so when I had the 3rd I waited untill #2 would be 4 1/2 . They all get along now but if I were to do it all over again I would put 2 1/2- - 3 years between each one.
See how you feel when your daughter is 2

You'll know when you're ready. Enjoy your daughter just as she is right now, as soon as you have another one you won't get as much alone time with your daughter. Don't give yourself a time limit that will only put stress on it. Just have one when you feel like it. Don't listen to what other people say. I am 20 years older than my brother and that is just what worked for my mom.

apart from just the age of your daughter, yo also got to look at your career - are you on maternity leave / break and if you intend to extend it, and have both your kids at one stroke that'll be good. But based on our experience, we had a baby, then after he was 18 months got back to work for a year and then went ahead with the second baby. That helps do away with the monotony of either role (mother / career woman)
Moreover, a kid who has reduced attention from parents for considerable time will be able to handle sibling arrivals better, so reduced sibling rivalry issues.
All the very best!

You'll know when the time is right. My daughter is 13 months old and I've decided to wait until she's at least 2 to start trying.

To me, the best is to wait about another year. If you have your kids too close in age, you wouldn't have any time for yourself. You might want to spend some time with your daughter now, and when kids are too young, and you have another child, they tend to feel neglated. So wait till the right moment.
And yet if they are too much difference in age, they wouldn't be able to play together.

my sister and I are 9 years apart. So I wanted my kids closer. I started trying when my oldest was 1 and was preg when she was 18 months. I now have 2 girls.I liked having them that close because I wasn't out of a routine yet, my oldest liked to help me. She adjusted really well. now there's best friends, they play together, but I'm not looking forward to when they are 13 and 15. Yikes

consider you, and the kids. you: it's harder to get them out of diapers, high chairs, walkers, etc...just to turn around and do it all again (that is experience talking on my end). kids: it works well to have them close enough that they can play together and be friends. too far apart and that gets tougher. two kids entertaining each other takes some of the load off of you. plus, you will be surprised how much love you feel for your 2nd child immediately. it doesn't replace anything from number one...it just adds on.
