i have always mixed dry food with a little water and a little milk nothing more than 2%. if you give them too much milke they will have an upset stomach. caned food is ok too but the problem with that is if you arnt planning on giving them that forever they get really picky about dry food. they do sell kitten food but it really isnt that needed. dry food is fine with a little water and milk for nutrents, water helps them chew better since their teeth are tiny. then after about a month or 2 you can give them dry food. the quicker they get dry food the better always leave out dry food and dont feed them too much food with milk once or twice a day in cup size portions. and the key is to mot make it into soup, then they will just drink the milk and leave the food just enough to get the food damp and soft. if you notice runny bowels give less milk or none at all. adn dont give dry food with just milk the milk has to be watered down in order for it to digest better. but dont give milk after about 6 months they will not be able to digest it very well then.

At 10 weeks old, the kitten should be weaned. Leave dry food out for them and let them eat as they like. Shaking the food in front of the kitten might help train them to come running when they hear the sound of food being shaken, but that's about all.

Feed 1/2 can in the a.m. and the other 1/2 can in the pm.
Leave dry food available all day along with fresh water.
Our kitten will be a year old this fall and he is still on that schedule and it works well for him.

Just put out a bowl of dry cat food/ Kitten Chow and a bowl of clean water. Keep them filled. The kitten will eat as often as it wants.

1/2 small can wet food in the morning, 1/2 at night.
Leave kibble out for him.
Do this until he's about a year old.

Also...make sure you use a kitten-formula cat food (at least for the kibble).

i would let him eat as much as he wants to, remember he is growing . what kind of food do you give him? you should be able to give him dry food, but i would give him some canned stuff too, not too much though. and a little warm milk would be nice too. good luck!,and also give him alot of T.L.C.
