I have always wanted to go to Disney World and audition to be a character look alike. I have a dream to be Cinderella....Not as a performer but as the Cinderella that like signs autographs...What do u think I should physically look like? Does it matter if I'm 6 foot tall. I want to do it as a summer job while i'm in college...I'm just now a senior so I have a while to think about it and plan for it...Does anyone have any information about how they hire and if they'll hire me for the summer...Does anyone have any advice at all as to how to go about all this....Thanks for your help in advance

If you are interested, then you should contact Disney's HR dept. Honestly, though, I don't think they hire their characters on a summer basis, especially their main attractions. Also, you assume that the Cinderella who signs is not the same one who performs in the dance/performance portions.

Perhaps you could work as a character at one of the resorts with Character activities.

I have good news and bad news for you.

Disney is currently hiring actors, singers, and dancers for various productions as well as face characters. You can find the info on the Disney corporate website:
http://corporate.disney.go.com/careers/auditions_disneyland.html

The bad news is that the princess height ranges are from about 5'2" to 5'6". At six feet you are too tall, but might be considered for a costumed character such as Goofy.

Most people start out by cleaning and gradually move up to better jobs at Disney! I am not sure if that is how it works for the characters tho! Contact Disney and ask! Good Luck!

Disney has auditions every so often for the theme park. I don't know if the characters are replaced very often or not but you can try. Go to the website and find out how to audition and when they are. Good luck.

Hows about you do something really worthwhile with your time? Hows about you teach people to read as a summer job? The pay is ZERO, but you will have touched and changed a life forever-- far longer than the autograph of Cinderella ( a fictional character) is appreciated by a snot-nosed eight year-old kid.

Also you should know how to sing, well. You probably need some theatrical training. The costume includes a wig too. So you basically need to be caucasian and that's about it.
