The bible was discovered and translated by man as was the Gospel of St Thomas. How on earth can the Vatican even think that it has the right to lable it Heresy when there is no difference what so ever between how the bible came about and how the Gospel of St Thomas came about. The Vatican might just as well lable the bible Heresy as well.

They refute anything that doesn't support their point of view. There are other gospels that they refuse to recognize including the gospel of Judas and the gospel of Mary Magdalene.

Gospel Of St Thomas

There is some disagreement among scholars regarding the gospel of Thomas.

Some feel that it actually dates much later than the time of Christ and is a gnostic gospel.

A lesser number of scholars do date it much earlier and think it comes from very near the time of Jesus. Basically it is a collection of sayings of Jesus and most of them are similar to his sayings in the gospels. Only a few are actually not found in the canonical Bible.

Some who date it earlier think it may have been used as a catechism for new converts, possibly coming out of the church council in 60 AD.

It had many discrepancies with the other books. For example Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John told similar stories. The books were not exact, and there were some differences, but not to an extreme. There is a lot that went into the research of what books were reliable. This is something you are going to have to really research. I have one for you...Why did the Protestants take out books of the Bible such as Maccabees, but is now putting them back in? Hmmm...Maybe they realized that the true church was right after all?

The New Testament gospels were written and/or authenticated by apostles/disciples of Jesus Christ who knew him personally.

And the NT writings date from the 30's (pericopes) to the 40's to the 50's AD (with the book of Revelation dating from about 90 AD).

The alleged gospel of Thomas dates from much later than the NT books, and was not written (or authenticated) by any disciple or apostle who knew Jesus personally (while he was on earth in physical form).

This is why Christian churches (in general) do not accept the alleged gospel of Thomas as being authentic...

Cordially,

a lot of gospels were discarded by the first council of Nice. as being to Jewish or not in line with the Church's view at the time. some of them can still be found in the Torah and a book titled" the lost books of the bible"..
even though the Christian church is an off shoot of Judaism. its main purpose was supposed to preserve the words and teachings of Jesus "the Christ" until the Jewish nation reconsised Him as there true savior.IT has become something else through the years.

They wanted to keep hold of all their power over all their followers. The Vatican murdered many women, claiming their heresy, because they, the male popes wanted to keep power, and destroy the divine feminine of Jesus wife Mary Magdalene, who proclaimed her as the apostle of apostles. GOD is in every one of us. GOD and the Kingdom of Heaven is here, all around us, in the air, water, earth, every blade of grass, trees, stone, all living creatures, in everything HE created. We are HEAVENLY SPIRITS, living inside earthly bodies. Our spirits, our Souls, will never die. When we truly believe in GOD S teachings, and also through JESUS and MARY S teachings, we will then see the SECOND COMING.

you can't control people if you don't control their books. the gospel of judas, for example, contains a warning from christ that all of his disciples were fools and worse who didn't understand what he was talking about. um, church can't let you see that since they're asking you for money...

Because its easier to call something a lie, than it is to rework your belief system around it.
