Should any ONE christian have any authority over another? is anyone better than the other in christianity? or have we all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God? was Paul a sinner, did he not persecute christians, and then God called him for his purpose? Why, oh why, do some christians condesendingly criticise other fellow christians when we all need the same sacrifice for salvation? tx :)

I guess it depends on the issue. Some Christians are new and need to be told what is up. That doesn't mean talk mean to them, but hey, their new. Other Chirstians just get things wrong. I do it too. Hey, there's lots to know if you are trying to study the Bible, so some have stronger areas of knowledge than others.

"Should any ONE christian have any authority over another?"
Yes, there are lists of those that have authority over others. There are some Apostles, Prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers- for the perfecting of the saints.

"is anyone better than the other in christianity?"
In one sense of the word 'better, " no.

"or have we all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God?"
Oh, if sin is the issue, Jesus is the way. Yes all have sinned. One of us is not better than the other on that. Those in authority are supposed to govern that kind of situation if it comes up.

"was Paul a sinner, did he not persecute christians, and then God called him for his purpose?"
Paul was a sinner like the rest of us until he died, if that's what you mean.

"Why, oh why, do some christians condesendingly criticise other fellow christians when we all need the same sacrifice for salvation? tx :) "
It depends on who's doing it for what reason. Not enough info.
Let's face it, some people need a verbal slap upside the head to wake them up.

I believe some so-called Christians should keep their mouth shut! God is the Ultimate judge. True Christians don't throw stones! Christians should encourage by constructive criticism and not destructive criticism. They come as wolves in sheep's clothing.
You are having fun and lighten up things. You made me laugh and I'm sure you have made other peoples day better. If your heart is convicted you know what to do but don't allow others mimic the Holy Ghost because they are not God but a sinner. Some guy made a comment that it was funny and he's an atheist. I'm so glad that you are a christian.

God Bless.
Shalom

Authority is good if it's given to someone who is "mature" & responsible.

I don't know what kind of 'authority' you're talking about...but in some cases "rebuking"/correction is needed. (I'm not saying this is the case with you....but I'm sure you understand where I'm going with this.)

We are all just sinners. Nobody is perfect. All have fallen short of the glory of God...

However, he does appoint certain people to be authorities, or leaders over others...Even Christians over other Christians.

maybe not the answer you're looking for, but I figured I'd give you a very straight answer.

You have quite a few questions all combined, but here is my opinion. Nobody has authority over anybody. We have all fallen short and are all(for the most part) trying to do our best to follow the "rules". God works through us and we are all imperfect vessels. Some Christians, just like any other group in the world can and will be condensing. Its not right and it makes other feel upset and angry, but it still happens. We as Christians should just try and to do our best and follow our particular convictions. Ignore those who would want to bring you down or criticize you.

I think you're right. Christians shouldn't be held loftier than other Christians. But I think you can look at this a different way. The Bible is a very deep and powerful book that needs study and discussion, and because we are imperfect we aren't going to get everything right. So naturally this leads to disagreements. Here people's pride steps in and these disagreements turn into condescension and fighting. But remember in the end hopefully we will discover a deeper truth and ultimately move closer in our walk with the Lord.

None of us is sinless. Christians live a harder life than non-Christians because our lives are harder to juggle. No one is to judge another because we all will be judged one day by God. Paul was a sinner. For those who judge will be judged by the One who created us. If a fellow Christian judges another, do not be despaired. It's just part of our human nature that we do so. Love one another as God loves us. "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, for the law of the Spirit of love in Christ Jesus shall set you free from the law of sin and death." Forgotten which Bible verse this is.

Preachers, Teachers, Elders, Deacons, will be Judged and held accountable, different than members.

Authority over you? yes, in a church setting only.

When a Christian gets blatantly out of line, does a Christian have the do right to say something?

The answer is in the Scripture.

Good Question.

Having authority doesn't make you better than any one else - it means the person has the ability to be taught and is submissive to the leading of the Lord who anoints them.... not everyone is willing to allow that --- they have to be in control.
Some Christians have a critical spirit --- they are the ones who lack understanding (need to be in bible studies, prayer and developing a personal relationship with the Lord)and if you notice they are also jealous.

When I first read this question I started relating this to the Pope, and whether or not he is any better in Christianity than anyone else. After thinking about that for a few mins, I was reminded of a bible verse in Mathew:
1At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
2He called a little child and had him stand among them.
3And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

So I suppose that if there is anyone who will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, she is likely so empty of pride that she has no idea whatsoever
