i'm referring to anxiety attacks, compulsive behavior, cutting, self injury, eating disorders

Help in what way? You need to be more specific.

There are a variety of anxiety disorders, and a variety of methods to help people who live with them. Try speaking to a therapist as a first step.

Yes and it sucks. But, which type are you referring to? There are several.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder; Panic Disorder; Dissociative Disorder; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; Phobia; etc. and combinations of the above.

Check out a therapist and try some Ativan, Xanax, or Valium. Stay FAR AWAY from SSRI's (Paxil, Zoloft; Prozac; etc.) Read Talking Back to Prozac by Joseph Brennigan??? It will explain why.

I guess you're asking what can help an anxiety attack? For me, deep breathing helps every time.
