I don't know if this is going on in different schools, but I know it's going on in Arkansas, because I go to a Arkansas school. Well anyway...the law says that the schools have to add in its daily instruction, a maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity, if you do sports in school or not. Because they say that we are all obese and all this. But what if you allready do a physical activity EVERYDAY (1-3 hrs) anyway...can they still make you do this? I'm not complaining, because I'm a work out nut, but what about these kids that aren't obese. Is this right to put this in schools, and basically come out and say we are all fat @$$es???

I have always wondered why they dident just make the fat kids do gym and not the people who actually take care of they're bodies, or like me, simply have a high metabolism and stay thin no matter what they eat. It's not fair making the skinny people exercise right along with the fatsos!

I think that 30 minutes is NOT BAD! I live in new jersey and we have 80 minutes every other day, i don't complain but sometimes it could be a hassle. Seriously though, even if your not fat, you could still be unhealthy, so exercising is the only right thing to do to keep our average dying age, to and older age!!

Physical education or P.E. was mandatory until the 10th grade when I was in school. I think it is right. Type 2 diabetes is considered an epidemic. Teaching kids that exercise is good is a way to help them when they get older.

A long, long time ago, back in the 60's and 70's I went to school and physical education was a required course. Oh, that is in NY.

I think it's right. Even if you're not obese, you still need physical activity. Plus, they can't pick and choose who has to do it.
