you need to get a firm grip on the tick with your finger tips, and then either flush it down the toilet or burn it. Burning it would probably be better because rumor has it that some ticks survive the water and will crawl back up your toilet. I dont know why frontline doesn't work. Frontline does not work fully, you can't expect it to prevent ALL ticks, it's just like bug spray. If the ticks are really really bad (like 10 or more ticks everyday), consult a vet maybe.

Also, be sure you're waiting the requisite period before applying the preventative. I work as a groomer, and the biggest mistake I see people make is putting the drops on right after the bath. Topical treatments require the oil in the skin to be there, something that bathing strips away. Wait a minimum of 48 hours prior-to and after the bath before using any sort of topical. Also, a lot of the topicals don't repel the ticks until after they bite, then the ticks die. Are the ticks you're pulling off of your dog alive or dead?

When my dog had ticks, she was just a puppy. We went to the vet who told us to go to the pet store for a solution ( sorry i can't remember the name now ) that we had to mix with water , put it a spray bottle & spray onto the dog (avoiding her face) after bathing her. Then we were told to spray the whole garden & porch where she's kept. All the ticks died the next day ! Very effective !!!

Are you sure it's Frontline Plus? The regular Frontline is just for fleas. I use K9 Advantix and that is supposed to repel and kill ticks and fleas, and mosquitoes.

cut their flur short, wash them with every mild dog shampoo 2 times a week.

IF YOU WANT YOU CAN GIVE THE DOG A BENEDRYL TO MELLOW THEM OUT TO GET THE TICK OUT WITH TWEEZERS, IF THE DOG IS SPASTIC. I WOULD USE A DIFFERENT BRAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE DOGS CAN LYME DISEASE TOO. LIKE ADVANTAGE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
