For the past 2 weeks I have totally been skipping breakfast and lunch, so the only thing I eat is dinner and a small dessert afterwards. I haven't lost like one pound.
This sucks, its almost very discouraging.

You cannot loose weight by skipping meals. Your body will hold on to every thing it gets if it does not get fed regularly. You absolutely MUST have 3 meals a day in order to loose weight.

I will share my diet with you, it really works and fast! What do you call healthy food? Most people don't know what is healthy as it's only what they have heard in the media.

I have lost around 60 lbs in 6 months and I will tell you what not to eat. The first myth we have been told is that fat is bad. Sugar and carbohydrate is the big nasty. In fact reduced fat food that has had some fat removed is actually more fattening than the regular food because the removed fat in most cases is replaced with carbs! This is the main reason why you must absolutely stay away from ALL processed food with no exception. Eat fresh and natural.

The other thing you must do is keep your insulin as low as possible by getting sugar and carbs in your diet as close to zero as you can and not having ANYTHING between meals. Also having at least 5 hours between one meal and another. The last meal of the day must be no later than 9pm. Insulin is a hormone that will absolutely block fat and protein burning in your body and force it to burn sugar, that's how it works. You will NOT lose weight with your blood stream flooded with insulin.

You must have at least 8 glasses of water a day, in order for your liver and kidneys to excrete the fat from your body this is crucial.

Now, what you must stay away from and I mean, non at all. Bread, pasta, rice, pastry, sugar, potato, onion, parsnip, sweet potato, pumpkin, beetroot, carrots, peas, spreads like butter and margarine and be very careful of sauces and condiments. Fruit and milk should be taken very, very sparingly because they are fattening. Fruit is full of sugar too, only a very small amount. Avoid all processed food including diet soda it will stimulate insulin. 3 cups of black tea or coffee WITH meals a day is OK.

OK, if you are still with me, what can you eat? In a nutshell you replace the carbs you have removed with protein and green leafy vegetables. Do not mix protein only 1 per meal. This is what you can eat. Lean meat, poultry, fish, cheese, yoghurt and eggs are your permitted proteins. Cauliflower, cabbage, sprouts, broccoli, capsicum, mushroom, celery, zucchini and a small amount of tomato. You can have unlimited amounts of lettuce and cucumber but ONLY at meal times. You can use balsamic vinegar as a dressing; mustard is ok too but only made from the powder. Shop bought is full of sugar! Curry powder in cooking can be used as well. One tablespoon of olive oil is ok per day, in cooking and as a dressing.

I will GUARANTEE if you stick to this you will loose heaps of weight, fast. I know it's not easy and you need the support of your family too.

Just another couple of things I forgot. NO breakfast cereal and avoid really heavy exercise you will just burn glycogen in your muscles, not fat and it will just make you sore and tired. You need prolonged gentle exercise to burn fat like walking. You don't need to exercise at all on this diet as long as you're moving about. Last but not least read food labels and look at the ingredients. Avoid foods like the plague with more than 5 grams of carbohydrate per 100 grams.

Good Luck. Jules, lecturer. Australia.

Cutting out meals all together is the last thing you want to do to lose weight...What happens is now since only eating once a day your body stores up all the fat it can because it needs this to function so there is no weight loss. The best thing to do is eat a larger breakfast then a good lunch and eat something smaller at dinner. Don't eat anything after 7pm as this is the time the body starts to wind down for the day, and with no activity there will be no weight loss. I did the starving myself thing this same way and lost nothing but started to eat breakfast lunch and a small dinner and lost weight. Make sure to watch what you eat and plan your meals so you are not just throwing something together and if all else fails grab a salad. I did begin to walk atleast 3 times a week so as to speed up my matabolism and have lost a total of 65 pounds. Good Luck to you.

If you ate 1000 and burned 1000 with exercise you'd be starving. I'm no expert i eat 1200 calories a day and normally don't exercise but I loose weight. Your body requires a certain amount of calories a day so if you require 2000 and you eat 1500 daily in a week you would have cut 3500 calories and that equals 1 pound lost .

because when u skip meals ur body stores fat and ur metabolism slows down. Its almost like hibernating. Its now holding on to even more fat than when u ate normally. Eating several small portioned meals a day (like 4 or 5) will speed it up and always helps me loose weight. Skipping meals has never worked for anyone i know and its REALLY bad for your health in the long run as well as drains your energy. Also since ur only eating dinner youre going to bed shortly after that so you dont have the chance to burn the only calories youre taking in to begin with so this strategy is bad all around.

Sorry to tell you but you're doing it all wrong.

You need to eat a sensible breakfast and lunch with lean meat and vegetables. You can't eat 3 hours before going to bed and absolutely a NO NO don't eat any dessert or fruit or sugary things at night. You're burning calories during the day so you need food in your body to create energy why would you eat when the day is over? all of that food is turning into fat while you sleep.

go to oprah.com they have great advice there

good luck

well one reason so far you haven't lost weight is because you are skipping meals. it is very unhealthy and it actually leads to weight GAIN. so you have to eat @ least 3 meals a day. another reason is because you need to work out every single day. you can do alot of fun stuff..like if you dance for a hour you can burn over 300 calories...or if you jump rope for about 15 minutes a day you can really start to loose weight. all u have to do is eat healthy meals a day...exercise, and get plenty of sleep. make sure you don't starve yourself..eat until ur FULL. good luck

Well believe it or not, eatting a large breakfast will help you lose weight. It kick starts your metabolism for the day and gets your body working.

Just eat 3 meals a day, not too close together, and keep the portions small. Physical activity would help too.

Don't just try NOT EATTING. That won't work.

skipping meals is not the answer your body will just store what fat it can. If you really want to lose weight eat 3 small meals a day and exercise 20 minutes a day and you will lose weight. trust me it works. I did this at the advice of my doctor

Here's a tip from a trainer:

"Focus on Fat Loss not Weight Loss

Without this action step, your expectations for results may get unfocused. It reminds you to use your common sense when thinking of losing fat. It has to do with the difference between muscle and fat. It keeps you correctly focused. I make this point first because 9 out of 10 people who start exercising, start because of a desire to reduce size.

Some forget to use their common sense. They forget to take in consideration the simplicity of how the body works. Blindly, most just want to see that weight come off. First of all, if your goal is to lose weight, you want to lose fat, not muscle or weight necessarily. Think of a pound of fat which has a caloric consistency of 3500 calories.

If you took one pound of fat and put it in front of you it would equal a grapefruit in size. If you take a pound of muscle which has a caloric consistency of 600 calories and put it in front of you it would equal an orange in size. Looking at both you’ll find that they are both the same weight but one pound of fat is bigger and takes up a lot more room.

If you lose 10 grapefruits off your body , and gain ten oranges, and they both individually weigh one pound, you would be the same weight but a lot smaller afterward. Because of this size difference you may see your clothes get bigger on you, your inches go down, and people telling you that it looks like you lost weight.

However, if you get on the scale you may stay the same weight and appear to be a lot smaller. This happens when you do a regular exercise program because you always initially build muscle. Usually 2-4 pounds for a woman, and 5-10 pounds for a man. This can happen within the first few months.

When measuring your results by the scale, you may be heavier or the same weight. This is because you will build muscle faster than you will lose fat. But after your muscle building slows down, after the initial growth period (1-3mo’s), you can count on seeing fat consistently peeling off your body. You can lose 1-2 pounds of fat a week. Imagine losing a pound of fat every week!

That’s 52 pounds in one year ( imagine 52 grapefruits off your body) . So remember to use to use common sense when thinking of fat loss: don’t just think of weight loss. "

Elevate your heart rate for extended periods of time and that'll do much more doing unhealthy things like skipping meals.
