"Status Monitor is a software application designed to monitor local and network printers. It gives users information about current printer status, including the amount of remaining toner, etc. Also if a print error occurs, the Status Monitor provides the user with a message describing the error. Status Monitor can be accessed only from the printer driver. It is aimed at end-users. Status Monitor 3 (STM3) is embedded in Epson printer drivers."

So if you install the printer driver, you will also install the Status Monitor 3.

For Windows users

Follow these steps to access the EPSON Status Monitor 3:

Double-click the My Computer icon.

Double-click the Printers folder.

Right-click the icon for your printer, and click Properties. If you are using Windows NT 4.0, you can choose either Document Defaults or Properties.

Click the Utility tab.

Click the EPSON Status Monitor 3 icon to start the EPSON Status Monitor 3 utility.
