I did a speech in high school about abortion and at the end I had everyone (including the teacher who was a hard A**) in tears. I have the feeling that if you dont want to get pregnant then keep your da** legs shut!!! I am sorry but things like this really crawl under my skin, I was 15 when I got pregnant the 1st time, had him 2 weeks after my 16th bday, and he is now just about 12 and one of the loves of my life! I would have never in a million years have ever aborted my baby. And then when I was 18 I got diagnosed with endometriosis. I was told that I would not be able to carry a baby again, I went through 6 surgeries for my disorder. My husband and I wanted to have a baby of our own more than anything, I got pregant, I was extatic!!! I lost the baby at 6 wk 6 days, it was a non viable pregnancy, not something easy to go through emotionally at all!! 3 months later I found out I was pregnant again, and now I have my 2nd boy and I never knew that feelings could be so intense, it's wonderful!! He is my little miracle!

Please try and talk some sense into your cousin, there are people out there that want to adopt newborns like crazy, god, dont kill the baby, let it live and just let someone else enjoy the life that she made. Is she ever decides to get married and start a family, and cant because of this...she will never forgive herself!

I believe that a woman has her right to make the choice if she wants a baby or not. If she is was raped, then I definitely think that she should be able to get an abortion! But if a woman is a whore, she shouldn't be killing innocent babies that did nothing to deserve being killed. I also think that if a wife is fooling around with her husband, she should make her own decision about abortion. If she thinks her career is more important or if she isn't ready, I think that's okay even though it's very cruel. Women should take responsibility for their actions and be mature and do the right thing. I think your whole family should have a talk with your cousin. That really isn't right! She should take responsibility. No offense, but is she married, or is she a whore?

Personnally, I'd rather see someone have an abortion, than bring a child into the world when they aren't financially, emotionally, or mentally capable of raising the child. There are many legitimate reasons to do so, regardless of what the religious right, and the US gov't want you to believe. Both are operating under some very archaic beliefs. In a free society, freedom to choose is a vital aspect.

That said, abortion as birth control is foolish...look at the cost factor alone between any other form.

As far as "killing a child that is unborn", let me say this...if the fetus couldn't survive outside of the womb, with only a degree of medical aid, is it really alive? I don't think so. And if it is a child as of the moment of conception, why is it that the gov't only gives a tax break from when the child is born?

Furthermore, sexual freedom is another type of freedom, that you must take responsibly. For the life of me though, I can't figure out why you need a lisence to hunt, fish, or drive, yet anyone can have a child, without proving competence.

People are gonna quote the bible quite a bit on this one...be ready. One question to them, you do know that in the same part of the bible you're quoting (meaning the old testament) it also says that its perfectly fine to sell your daughter into slavery, and to publicly stone a disobedient child. You can't pick and choose which parts are right, but its an amazing ability for those of faith to turn suddenly blind or offer excuses for that which they don't like.

"thou shalt not kill"...what a crock of sh@t.

i am sooo against abortion. i believe that unless you are raped you should have the child. its so wrong to have an abortion if your not raped. the reason being, that if you are responsible enough to have sex and make a child then you should be responsible enough to raise the child that you have created. even if you are like 15 and dont want to ruin your life, then at least have it and put it up for adoption if that is your last option. there are people out there that cant have children who would love to have one of their own. i know quite a few of people that have lost their babies by a miscarriage. i had a child when i was 19, and i really didnt think i was able to care and raise this child, my sons father and his mom wanted me to get an abortion but i refused! after you go to see that first ultrasound and see that there is a live baby in your stomach there is no other feeling than knowing you are able to grow a child who will love you no matter who you are!!! so heres my answer to this question:
ABORTION IS WRONG :(

Abortion is wrong. They argue that "it's a woman's choice." No, It's a baby - NOT A CHOICE. Women seem to dehumanize a pregnancy by getting caught up in it being a "choice" and don't realize that they are creating a human being. The "choice" should be to NOT engage in sexual relations in the first place if a couple is not ready to accept a pregnancy. Sexually active couples should change their thinking and realize that every time they have sex, there is a good possibility of getting pregnant, and so their choice should take place at that moment (before sex), not after the woman is already pregnant. To me, life does begin at conception. I think of my sister-in-law who had an abortion at the same time I was pregnant. My 12 year old is 5'7" tall, blond haired, blue eyed, healthy, gorgeous, and bouncing off walls. Her child (who would have been my son's cousin), is dead and will never, ever exist because it was killed in her womb, regardless of whether it was a zygote, embryo, or fetus. What difference does it make at what stage it was aborted? It was eventually going to be a smart, capable, living, breathing, smiling person. And it's life's journey began at conception.

I actually agree to abortion because technically it IS your own body and yes you are killing an UNBORN child but that shouldn't be against the law cause technically your not killing anyone cause that unborn child has no identity and any record and abortion should be that person's own choice....

If i personally got pregnant now at my age(17), yea i would try to get one(abortion)...but if i was like about to get married or at least have a full time job and everything to where im outta school..i wouldn't got through with it.

I think that while this is NOT a good (or even safe) method of birth control, it's the woman's right to choose and NOT the right of our government. There are circumstances where this may be the right choice for a woman; ultimately she will have to live with her choice. It should be a personal matter between the affected parties. I also think there should be more education at home and in the schools (anyone who mentions teaching kids abstinence has GOT to be kidding! yeah, RIGHT - bury your heads in the sand). I think for the "oops" factor, the "morning after" pill is a better solution...better than abortion. Ideally people will take precautions in the first place but then there's reality...

Abortion should be an option, I myself could never do it. I believe it is killing a human being. One of my teachers once told me that the baby isn't considered living until it's birthday and argued that abortion wasn't killing a living person but I believe it is. However, in cases such as rape, the woman didn't choose not to use protection, meaning should didn't choose to conceive the child either. I would say give it up for adoption, but I was raped and know how hard it is to admit that you were raped. I still believe it is wrong though.

i believe in a woman's right to choose. HOWEVER, abortion is not a means of birth control. i can see once... bad things happen under 100's of different circumstances ...so every woman has a right to choose. IMHO though i think that 2 strikes and your out. 1 abortion...OK like i said things happen. if you come in for time 2...OK but right then and there as they are doing the procedure. the woman's tubes are snipped, and burnt at both ends so no chance of future pregnancies. Responsibility needs to be taken and if a woman can't handle the responsibility then so be it... take it out of her hands. twice and that's it...no more "oops i did it agains" for you.
Abortion is not a form of birth control.

Oh dear. I have an issue with women using abortion as a method of birth control. Using abortion as a method of birth control is wrong. Other than that, I feel it is a womans choice to decide what to do with her own body. Your cousin needs to find a better way not to get pregnant.
