Bambi,

That not only too close
but very disrespectful
to both his wife and to
you.

Try finding another job,
this man is nothing but
trouble in your very near
future.

Be wise and good luck!

Hes talking about marriage troubles to you so he can justify what hes going do next....soon he will quit being subtle and get right to the point, if he thinks hes got a shot. Once it goes that far it will be an uncomfortable situation for both of you.

hmmmmmm.....YES!!!!!! back out of there as quick as you can. Your boss should not be talking about his marriage issues with you. It is one thing to be on friendly terms, knowledge of the kids etc, but to know about the struggles of the marriage is beyond the line of a proper work relationship.

For what should be just a professional relationship, it's too close. However when he does as you stated above ( and you're comfortable with it), it should happen outside of work only, separating the workplace from your personal lives.

It is so inappropriate and illegal. He needs someone to talk to, but not at lunch with a subordinate. If you are interested in him, back off. Let him have a chance to work through his marital problems. If it doesn't work out , then it was not because of you.

It sounds like sexual harassment and there are laws against it, as well as company policies prohibiting it. You can speak with your Human Resource Dept., if there is one at your company, you can also tell him politely and firmly that it is inappropriate and you would like him to stop.
